I've been browsing these forums like crazy, and I see SO many great idea's and recipes, and I just think it would be nice to have a recipe index of sorts that these forums could link to, instead of pulling a "banana" everytime we want something :)

I TOTALLY agree!! There are probably alot of recipe's that everyone uses, like RP's Brownies -- and I'll bet some of the people who have been here longer have saved alot of the recipes.

My dehydrator is coming tomorrow and I'm surfing through looking for all the good recipes I've always wanted to make, but never could. It's going to be a long night looking for the needle in a haystack recipes...sigh...but a fun hunt. =)

I copy and paste and then print out, if I like the recipe I put them in a binder. I think I need start laminating some because they get a little messy in the kitchen!

Well see that's what I was thinking of:
We need some sort of "self submit" type of a place.
You know the websites like Recipezaar.com and allrecipes.com?
Well need a raw equivalent:)

And now I feel sheepish because I brought this up and I have nothing to offer....nothing but ideas:)
I'm no webmaster :-\

PS I too save the recipes I like. I just copy/paste them into notepad, then save them with the recipe "title".

Smilingkyle,

Don't feel sheepish! (now this is just a joke, but hope Revvell doesn't see this! about the sheep I mean...so don't take this seriously....okay!)

Ideas are excellent, because there are alot of people on this board and someone might just want to do what you are suggesting! or maybe Alissa might have been thinking along the same lines.....you never know!

So, post ideas always!

Have a GREAT day,

Pansy ;)

I've been sooo frustrated with recipes too. I 'post-it' pages of Raw Books, scribble down recipes from this and other websites onto scraps of paper. Copy recipes into notebooks...and can never find what I want when I have a great food buy!!! I've printed some out into 'word' and printed them out, glued them onto file cards. Finally, I just sat down and wrote out the recipes on 3x5 file cards and they are just great! Did it while watching tv.

I made catagories ie: pate, dressings, cookies, crackers, etc. Then alphabetize them!! Now when a recipe idea hits...I can find what I want immediately...I even made a Holiday Recipe section with pretty recipe cards so I could find them fast. :D

The challenge is a lot of these member's recipes aren't named. Many people write "mix this together in a blender" and just jot down what they did without any ideas of how much or this or that. Sometimes that can literally make or break a recipe.

I think it's a great idea though, if you are up for the task.

Honey-coconut Pear Halfs.
2 medium pear, cut in half lengthwise
1 tsp of pure vanilla
1/4th cup of coconut
1/4 th cup of cashew nuts
3 Tbsp. of raw honey placed in a cup over warm water so it will be ready to pour when the pears come out of the dehydrater.
Take the shredded coconut and blend with the cashew nuts in a blender and place along with the pears in a bag and shake till coated, then place in a dehydrater for 1 to 2 hours til warm and soft.
Blend the vanilla in with the honey and pour it over the warm pears.
A wonderful dessert and so easy to do.
Bethanie :)

Last August, I guided a raw meditation retreat for my sister. (It was my first time going home in nearly 6 years!) In prep for it, I worked (hard!) on a compilation of a bunch of recipes gathered mostly on the net. You see, my intention was to create something that I could easily use during the retreat and then leave behind for her to experiment with. I divided it in different sections such as Drinks, Dressings, Spreads and Pates, Main Courses, Desserts... The end result was 74 pages long with some 125 recipes, complete with table of content and annexes with interesting info about raw food. I printed it out and put it all in a binder in plastic protector sheets. It's been awesome... I use it everyday!

Since my return, I've come across this forum, so incredibly rich in info, recipes and advice. (Thanks guys!) So I'm in the process of creating this gigantic new compilation. There's lots of editing to do but I have a few hundred pages so far ...and I keep adding new recipes almost daily!

So I guess that my point is that, when I'm done, I'd be totally happy to share the result of my work with you all. In PDF file maybe or perhaps for a possible web site like you've been discussing. Whatever seems best...

That would be wonderful! If you could email it, or upload the PDF somewhere....

But as someone previously said, the problem with alot of recipes on here is that the quantities aren't specified alot of the time.
Personally, I don't mind a bit of experimentation (unless it involves expensive ingredients!)
