There is NO swearing on this site. If you insist on using foul language here we will warn you once and then you will be banned the second time. We are getting overwhelmed here with emails from people who find this offensive and unnecessary on a public forum board and we agree.

Using the word and putting a * or a # in place of a letter is the same thing.

This is an adult raw food forum board.

Yes, thank you muchly :)

There are few places anymore where a person can go and have decent, clean interaction with other adults.

Just because it's basically an '"adult" site doesn't mean it has to contain vulgarity. Being an adult SHOULD accompany the ability to conduct ourselves in a mature mannner.

Once again, thanks very much.

Thank you very much. I find it offensive and juvenile. If you're an adult you should know how to act as one in a respectful manner.

Personally, I don't find it offensive yet, what I realized after reading one post was that, when I use to use that language I would draw folk to me who were not supportive of my emerging lifestyle and way of being and not the other way around.

It's the same as what one thinks, one attracts.

It's an interesting phenomenon.

And, as one stated yes, we are adults and being adults means learning new and better ways of communicating.

Thank you PP.

I agree - you wouldn't use profanity if you were writing a book or had a restaurant or a website, now would you?

So how is it any different in this format? Because this is not a private conversation, thousands of people are reading and young adults as well as wise adults who like to read words and not profanity.

This is what makes this place

The Friendliest Raw Support Forum on the Net

I have started to deliberately shun certain posts because of fear of what may go into my brain. I don't use that kind of language and I don't want it lurking around in my brain. I read one such post on here and I am trying very hard now to detox from the words ever ringing in my psyche.

Personally, people who resort to using profanity/vulgarity show their vast ignorance of the English language and it's usage. My vocabulary is extensive enough that I can find sufficient words to express any emotion I have, on any given subject. Using profanity is so childish and lame (get up off the couch and get a Thesaurus, if you need to find a stronger word, to emphasize a stronger emotion....REALLY !!)

Shouldn't that be true of everyone, especially here, where foul language
absolutely is NOT necessary ????

My former pastor once said, "Don't put in your mouth, what you wouldn't hold in your hand."....regarding a few particular foul words which I won't print.

I like that quote, however I have to wonder if he's ever changed a diaper. :D Somebody's gotta carry that thing to the diaper genie.

Thank You! I was wondering if this was ever going to be addressed, I have really pulled away from this board because of all the unkindness and unecessary bad language that has been going on.

 Ok so I'm not certain if I've ever been guilty of such lewd, lascivious and simple minded utilization of venacular. But in the event I have benn an ofender then I apologize, for I am 30 and 6 years of age and do not permit members of my household to use trash/gutter language to express themselves, however in all my blazen hypocrisy I have used verbage that was less than eloquent.

 Question:
Are abbreviations included in the requested refrain????

I often use WTF
but clearly delineate that it stands for "what the fruit" in my post

However other posters use more popular abbreviations for laughing and rolling on the floor, that include the explicatives that I presume are prohibited.

 Second the asterick and pound signs really are excluded too?
Just joking :p

I'm fine with the request and will gladly oblige, though I guess I never ran into the offensive text posted by others.

Please just don't send the spell check and grammer police my way!

Sincerely,
Ayesha

I'm a firm believer in using profanity...from time to time :D , but I am also a firm believer of respecting the wishes of others, but does that mean that those who choose to use profanity be put down, or called childish?

I found that to be a little offensive. I mean does that make us ignorant, childish, or lame? I don't think it does. :) Maybe different than you.

It is almost like your put downs are as hurtful/vulgar as what you say profanity is to you.

Anyways, just needed to speak my mind.

Blessings and good day to everyone!

I love the way some people express themselves. :D Very entertaining, Ayesha.

I think that we're a little too sensitive about certain words. They aren't toxic, they can't hurt us, especially in the way they are used on this forum -- typically just to lend emphasis. What can and does hurt is negative criticism, derision, wagon-circling, triangulating, sarcasm, name-calling, and the like. THE reason I'm here on this forum is because those things are not done here. I guess I must have missed the unkind comments that are being referred to on this thread. Imo this is the best, friendliest raw forum on the web, except for my own. :) I won't even mention the forums whose low standards I'm judging by because I know people would visit them out of curiosity and I don't want them to get any more undeserving traffic than they already do!

Very appreciatively,
Nora

This wasnt about a word or two here and there to emphasize a point. It was much more than that.

Im closing this thread so we dont start a big debate here.
THanks everyone for understanding. We are just trying to keep the energy of this board what it is and we know most of you appreciate that.
