Here's a wee bit of inspiration.
I've been raw vegan for about 1 1/2 years, and I think that I've finally found the perfect diet for myself.
I eat large amounts of juicy fruit, mostly pineapple, grapes, berries, and watermelons, and about 4-5 days of the week I either have a salad (that consists of about 70 percent leafy greens, 20 percent shredded carrots or beets, and 10 percent cumcumbers) or a huge bowl of seaweed soup that I make with wakame, dulse, lime or lemon juice, ground flax, nutritional yeast, and shiitake mushrooms. I also will eat 1/2 to 1 lb. of sun-dried dates with about 60 ounces of water on some days.
So, yeah. It's pretty much the 80-10-10 approach, and it works so well! I think that the majority of my digestive discomforts etc. were the result of eating too much fat at once, even though I was mostly eating mono fruit then as well.
A sample day for me looks like:
breakfast:
two pineapples
dinner: (4 to 6 hours later, but no later than 6 pm)
seaweed soup (recipe follows)
I take a 1.76 oz package of dried wakame, and then rehydrate it in 100 degree distilled water, then add 1/2 to 1 lb. organic shiitake mushrooms. (I usually slice half of the shrooms, and leave the rest whole. THey get mushy and wonderful as they absorb the broth.) then grind 2 heaping teaspoons of organic golden flax and add that, then 2-4 heaping teaspoons of nutritional yeast. Than I squeeze in a lime (or lemon) ans dump in dulse to taste. Ginger is also great, fresh or powdered. Mix it up and enjoy!
It soooooo good!
