I recently caught bronchitis. I do not want to take any meds. I fasted all yesterday on green juices and I will today too.
I have been coughing violently and expelling so much mucus.
My throat and chest hurts.
I sent my fiance to buy me a tray of wheatgrass....I heard it helps loosen mucus in the lungs.
Please help me with any other suggestions.
Am I doing the right thing by refusing to take antibiots, cough meds.
I get this every year and usually I end up taking meds. I really want to heal naturally with raw juices.
Any thoughs....I feel so sick :(

You're doing fine. The body is doing it's job coughing and expelling mucus. Let it happen.

You can use eucalyptus as a face steam to coat the bronchial tubes and soothe them.
Lemon juice breaksdown mucous !!!
Mustard seed powder plaster topically is an old remedy to breakdown the mucous in the chest.
Good massage around the chest ,ribs, shoulder etc is great too.
Stay warm/dry and not moist.

Ok...I'll avoid antibiotics.
My fiance came home with the wheatgrass and I juiced some along with apples and celery. Yuck...I hate the way it tastes but my body is releasing alot of yucky yellow phlegm.
My chest hurts and my throat is painful.
I fasted on all juices today. I wasn't hungry and I also read it is best not to force foods when one is sick.
I hope this takes care of my bronchitis. :(

When I get sick, I take a hot bath with a thermometer handy (lately two thermometers - one for me and one for the water). Soak in the hot water. If you have to put your legs on the tub wall, you are hot enough. The hot bath relieves you of having to burn food for your fever, and the water helps get the mucus out. I have been sick with a cold, which is a detox that often gets infected by a virus (the "cold viruses" belong to several genera, so it's pretty clear they don't cause the disease). Get well!

Listen to your wise body, rg. If something tastes bad to you, do you think nature would require you to eat it? Nature only wants the best for you. She makes your perfect foods those which delight ALL your senses. If you must eat while you're sick, pick your favorite juiciest fruits and eat them very sparingly. The only thing better than doing that is not eating at all -- just sipping pure water when you are thirsty (there's no formula for how much to drink when you fast). Forget the wheatgrass and anything else that is purported to loosen mucus or whatever. Long before juicers were invented, our bodies developed the perfect ability to cleanse themselves. Nothing can hasten or assist this process, except getting out of the way.
Antibiotics kill "germs" but they also kill living cells. When you take antibiotics, in order to preserve your internal integrity, your body will stop the life-saving work it's performing in instituting acute symptoms so it can eliminate this poison. When this happens, it is said that the antibiotics "cured" the sickness but in reality they just defeated the body and forced it to deal with a more imminent threat.
Hot baths are not useful for cold symptoms. When people feel "relaxed" after taking a hot bath, what they're really feeling is the body being very tired from having to work so hard at regulating its internal temperature. Taking a hot bath when cold symptoms are present will sometimes make a person feel better, but that's because the body must stop its emergency elimination symptoms in order to regulate its temperature. So, again, the cessation of symptoms is regarded as a "cure", when all that happened was that the body's finite energies were re-directed.
The quickest way to feel better is do nothing. Go to bed and keep your eyes closed as much as possible. Get fresh air but stay warm. Eat nothing and drink only pure water as thirst dictates. Allow your body to unburden itself.
Happy cleansing,
Nora

First of all, you're not sick. You're detoxing/cleansing out all the junk in your system.
Secondly, forcing oneself to eat at any time is not healthy.
Thirdly, contrary to most opinions, when I'm cleansing, I don't just "rest", I keep moving which keeps the lymph active and the cleansing happening. Learned this by doing it. Got it done one time in a weekend rather than the usual 7-10 days.
There's some interesting work being done by a medicineless hospital in China. People go there when they've got no place else to go. They tell how their doctors (Eastern and Western) kept telling them to go home and rest and at this hospital they have them moving 8+ hours a day and they are thriving. They've got about a 94% success rate with people who've been told nothing can be done for them.

You all gave such great advice. Thank you very much.
BTW....rawnora, you are very pretty!
Revvvvvell, haha I've seen that posted many times, your advice yesterday really helped. I took no antibiotics and cough like crazy all day and night.
My bronchitis was BAD! I stuck with my juices and a shot of wheatgrass.
I know you don't believe in wheatgrass rawnora, I'm still not sure if its good or bad. I go back and forth on that, but I mostly don't take it cuz I hate the way it tastes.
I had another bad coughing spasm at 4am til 5 am. I was spitting mucus and blowing my poor dry nose for an hour. So much mucus and yellow crap came out. Sorry if that is gross.
But I stuck with it. Well...my bronchitis is much better. All I have right now is a little soreness in my throat and some mucus left when I swallow. My appetite has also returned.
This bronchitis usually takes me at least 7-12 days to cure on antibiotics. I can't believe that I feel much better in just a weekend. Still sick (but more like a small cold, nothing like bronchitis).
I am so happy right now and I believe even more than ever in raw foods, juices, and natural healing.
