I've been high raw for 4 months and 100% for the past couple of months and already I've seen incredible physical improvements some of which are kind of hard to believe. Premature grey runs in my family. Pretty much everybody on my mother's side started having salt and pepper hair in their mid-20s. To my horror, I discovered several strands of grey about a year ago. I kind of knew that it would be inevitable, but I'm too young to have grey hair!!! And it happened overnight, or so it seems.

About a month ago, I mentioned to my hair stylist that I had been toying with the idea of dyeing my hair, because I was starting graduate school and didn't want to look like I was old enough to be my classmates' aunt. I am not particularly fond of the idea, but turning grey at my age is just too traumatic. :( I have seen women who look gorgeous even with grey hair, premature or not, but I just HATE my grey hair. My hair is dark, fine, smooth, and straight. The grey strands are coarse, curly, and dull. I also hate that they stick out like crazy and there's nothing I can do about it. And for a while, it seemed the dark strands were getting outnumbered by the grey strands.

Anyway, last week I went in to have my hair cut and (gulp) colored ( ). As my hair stylist ran her fingers through my hair she said that several (not all, but about 3/4 of them) of the grey strands were dark at the roots!!! They have returned to their original color AND texture. I didn't have my hair colored that day. Whoo hoo!

My hair stylist thought it was amazing and said she had never seen anything like that. Does anyone have this experience after they've gone raw for a few months? I'm very excited about this.

My vision has improved too. I thought I would need stronger prescription, but, as it turned out, I no longer do. Yeah!! :D

Hey Rawnomad! Welcome!
I HAVE heard of hair going from gray back to it's original color, so that is a benefit from eating raw. In fact, I'm trying to remember, but (maybe others will pipe in here), but I thin in Green For Life - by Victoria Boutenko? She goes into detail about that. I THINK it's her book. I have about five different books I am reading and I may be confused. SOMEONE has talked about that and how premature graying is due to digestive problems.
You will notice lots of improvements. It is incredible. I've suffered from migraines my whole life. Since going raw 12 weeks ago? Not one migraine has surfaced! THAT is monumental.
Welcome! Sit back and enjoy all the perks of being raw!!!

Wow, sure wish I see dark roots return. My did improve too.

Vegan:
I have heard that chocolate, coffee, cheese, pop (soda) are culprits to migraines. I assume since raw, or even if you went vegan, you may still enjoy these fabulous results. Glad the migraines are gone and glad you found it through raw.

Awesome! I hope that happens to me. I've had glasses for years now that I only use for night driving and watching movies, but recently I've needed them more. Hopefully in a few months that won't be an issue anymore.

:) Now the funny thing is that i put this on my hair about 3 months ago and now some of the grey has come back but it's very light not as much as before. It almost like the reappearance is slowed down. I know the dye is suppose to wear off with washing but the gray is not coming back, this sounds strange but i love the way my hair is looking less gray and deeper color like it looked 10 years or so ago. :D
Also the texture seems better.
As for my vision nothing seemed to have changed as of yet.

rawnomad, have you told to your0 hairstylist that the cause of your "hairwonder" might be being raw?

It is important , because she can give this information to all her clients, and this it the way to spread this lifestyle

That is great to hear about your hair!

I just checked and I don't have a lot of gray hair turning dark again. My gray is mostly in my beard and above my forehead. I color it with henna; it makes it soft, silky, and strong. I wouldn't want to use the alternatives (PPD and lead salt) as they're both toxic and I like my body clean inside. I love henna :)

BTW I came here from the Long Hair Community and a few other of us rawies are there too.

I'd like to see my vision improve too, at both ends. I can read the Compact Edition of the OED without a magnifying glass, but it's starting to be a strain, and I'm about two diopters nearsighted. Does raw prevent the lens from losing elasticity?

You mean -8 diopters? At first I thought you were talking about your hair  or maybe even a car engine;)
