View Full Version : Why isn't Potato Salad Under "P"?

I'm looking through Alissa's books for some of the recipes that people have raved about and I'm having a hard time. The index only lists them under group headings. So, when I wanted the recipe to make Pad Thai, I had to figure out what heading it was under. "Entrees." so Pad Thai is listed under "E."
I'm now looking for the potato salad made from jicama. It's not under "p" and I don't see it listed under "salads." Somebody please give me a clue!!
Has anyone ever thought of creating an alphabetized list of recipes with page numbers for Alissa's recipes?
Or, is that already somewhere in the book and I'm just missing it??
I did find the potato salad, it was listed under "salad" in the """ section.

no it isn't....and i have thought of that idea before as well. i think it is just awful that index...it really is....very very sparse. i am a perfectionist in many ways, so needless to say i would have done it differently :)
i would also love to see us start a thread with recipe corrections. i have read here and there of different corrections and have come across several myself but it would be great to have it all in one place for easy reference. to me it is a bit disappointing--i think the editing of the book was a bit sloppy and it is really a shame considering what a great book it is otherwise...but, to me, it is those details, those polishing details that really define things.

The potato salad is listed on page: 447
I agree- the only thing that I don't like about Alissa's book is the index- it needs to be easier to get to what you want- even by ingredient would be nice + by dish.
I hope her new book also has a few blank pages where we can write in recipes of our own. Her book is the one I use most, and it would be nice to have a few extra blank lined pages to write recipes I get else where or even to just write inspirational notes to myself- ... Right now, I print them up and use a foler clip to hold them in...
Hope this helped...

I have simply just put little stickies on my favorite recipes
When I first received it, I read through all the testimonials, and looked at all the pics over and over again. The one where the girl goes raw, and they have her pics in there each month for about 9 months, is the one I kept looking at. I think that is one of the best things I ever saw, made me want to be her.
As far as the book goes, the recipes are the very best, the pictures are great, wish there were more, and Alissa's fantastic personality comes out with all the quotes, and sayings, and it is my favorite recipe book. Well, actually, it is my favorite raw food book to just sit and read.

I couldn't find the strawberry crepes anywhere, so I wrote it in the index. I think they may have been listed under 'entrees' or something. Oh well. When I have some free time, I may go through all the recipes and write them in the index so I can find them when I need them.

the easiest way I can find that strawberry crepes is to go to the pictures in the middle of the book, and by the pic of the crepes, they have the page number, pretty much this is how I navigate the book.
After all, the book is amazing.
