I don't get nearly enough greens in my diet. I am interested in blending stuff in the blender (like cucumbers??? no idea! ). But I am clueless as to what would be good.
Suggestion??
Thanks!

also, i have done a mixture like this that is wonderful: about 1 cup of fresh pineapple or orange juice blended with a big handful or so of spinach and a handful of parsley, add a bit of water to taste (maybe a cup). blend it for a bit till it is frothy. i got this recipe from a book called 10 essential foods which is great (tho not all raw)...she also has a great book called 10 essential herbs which has been invaluable to me. the fruit juice is so sweet that you can put lots and lots of parsley and spinach and it still tastes sweet....and it makes a gorgeous green color!

I will second the addition of spinach and parsley into any juices. They are both easy to get at any store. You can adventure further and throw in some chard, kale, mustard greens (in small amounts), cilantro, etc. Even some different types of mint in small amount also!

It's funny that I just saw this thread. I don't get enough greens either. I'm now sitting here, finishing up a smoothie, where I added a romaine lettuce leaf.
My favorite smoothie is Strawberries and bananas. I know we're not suppose to combined fruits and veggies, but since I'm still not all raw, I figure mixing them is better than not getting any at all.
I took 1 banana, and one romaine lettuce leaf and blended them. Then added 1/2 bag of frozen organic strawberries. It wasn't bad.
Here are some other ideas I got from another board:
Mango-parsley= 2 large mangos, 1 bunch parsley, Water
Strawberry-banana- romaine= 1-cup strawberries ,2 bananas ,1/2 bunch romaine, Water
Pear-kale-mint= 4 ripe pears, 4-5 leaves of kale, 1/2 bunch of mint, Water
Peach-spinach= 6 peaches, 2 handfuls of spinach leaves, Water
Apple-kale-lemon= 4 apples, ½ lemon juice ,4-5 leaves of kale, Water
Finger banana-spinach= 10 finger-bananas, 2 handfuls of spinach leaves, Water
Mango-weeds= 2 mangos, 1 handful of lambs quarters, stinging nettles, purslane & etc, Water
Kiwi-banana-celery= 4 very ripe kiwis, 1 ripe banana ,3 stalks of celery, Water
Bosc pear-raspberry-kale= 3 Bosc pears, 1 handful of raspberries, 4-5 leaves of kale, Water

One of the best ways to consume raw kale for me is to add it to salads. It's chewy texture can make it unpleasant if torn or chopped; so I take a handful of it, stemmed, and blend it in a processor, dry, or a blender (after I've blended my dressing; this picks up the excess dressing otherwise left in the blender!). The texture is finely minced so it is really easy to eat this way, mixed in with all the salad ingredients. I've added so much more kale this way :)

I made pear & parsley smoothie yesterday for the kids (and me)...I had to put a tsp of honey is so they'd drink it though...Still better than nothing!
