:D I want to pack a sweet snack that will not melt or need to stay cold in the fridge.
I need it for tomorrow so if anyone can help me please, please it's a special short trip. :)
Thanks

Hi, my brownies work great, no need to refridgerate
1 cup walnuts, (not soaked)
1 cup dates (pitted, not soaked)
1/4 cup cocoa, cacao nibs ground or carob
put into food processor, blend until they stick together, press into flat pan, cool in fridge or freezer until easy to cut, then cut into squares, I pop into a baggie, and go
you can freeze, or whatever
if they won't stick together, you need to blend more, if they are too oily, you blended them too long, but they will still taste great.
you can add chopped nuts if you like, I just stick a walnut half on top sometimes, they are soooooooo good.

My birthday gift to me in 2 weeks is going to be a food processor, for the sole reason of making those brownies (and other desserts!).
No joke.

Anytime is the perfect time to make RP brownies so I'm headed to the kitchen. It's close to midnight but not letting time determine my desires.
Thanks RP. I have raw carob only and going to use that as that is all I have unless I wait till tomorrow. I'm off to make the brownies. I'll get them in the refrigerator or freezer, but AFTER I lick my fingers clean. Back with an update. No frosting for me right now. Just gotta get them made!

I made it in seconds, tasted it and now in refrigerator, but really it is delish as is. It didn't make lots so maybe next time double recipe.
I am doing food demo next week at our local coop, them supplying the ingredients and wondering how I can get some "pumpkin in here" to call it Pumpkin Brownies. I just want to gie a Halloween impression but I want to make it super fast and simple as we have a rawluck following. Maybe I can get someone else to do the demo, but for sure this recipe is so easy and fool proof, including time saver, it's a keeper. Thanks RP.

Maybe you can use pumpkin seed butter.

Sharon,
Think the pumpkin seed butter would add orange coloring to the brownies? Think too much fat with the nuts already? Were you thinking I would buy the butter as I have not looked for it yet? Thanks.

I've acutally never tried pumpkin seed butter. :o Aren't they black though?
You could use half walnuts, half pumpkin seed butter, that way there's no more fat, just replacing half the nuts with another kind of nut, or seed in this instance.
Oh, and you could just grind the pumpkin seeds. Might be something you'd have to test drive at home first.
