Any hints for the bagel recipe? Alissa's bun? I just posted at the cream cheese topic need that bagel help. I had a flashback and asked about lox too as it was cream cheese, bagel and lox. Now it's no animal, but content where I am. However, a teaser for a lox recipe could be awesome.

i was planning on using something in substitute for the sprouted rye, and wanted to add flax and some additional nutritional value........
besides -- WHEN I WENT TO THE MARKET ASKING FOR SPROUTED RYE -- THEY ASKED ME WHAT WAS I MAKING...... LSD!!!!
APPARENTLY, that is the base ingredient for drug making........ aghhhh!! geeshhhh!!! lol

Bagels[/U]
4 Cups of sprouted Rye, I have also used Spelt
2 cups of sunflower seeds blended into powder
1 1/2 Tsp salt
I have added Spinach, Basil, Sun Dried Tomato, or Cinnamon with Raisins and Goji Berries
Up to 1/2 cup of water if needed
Blend in Food Processor

Form into balls, press down and created a bagel shape. Punch hole in center with finger.

Dehydrate 110 Degrees for about 2.5 hours, flip and dehydrate till desired consistency.

Thanks for sharing this fabulous recipe. This is a plan ahead one as you have to use spouted grain. No problem as patience is a gift we work on daily. In the past I have had problems sprouting rye. Not sure why, but hey. Many thanks.

Came across the following recipe in my ever-growing raw recipe compilation (copy-paste, copy-paste; copy-paste...).

2 cups sprouted buckwheat
1 cup sunchoke pulp
1 cup carrot pulp
sea salt to taste*
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast [this is not a raw product]
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup flax seed meal
1/4 cup pine nut meal

Grind sprouted buckwheat into mash (using a Champion juicer or a Vitamix).

Mix oil and salt and yeast into buckwheat.

Mix pulps together and then into buckwheat.

Mix meals together and stir in.

Form into bagels and dehydrate for 12 to 18 hours (until proper consistency).

(Start on teflex sheets and flip it over and remove teflex after 3 hours.)

Not sure what sunchoke pulp is but I'm sure you could substitute...

Please let us know how they turn out!

As I don't have a very efficient dehydrator right now, I find making grain-based bread a bit risky. I've already had to feed a batch of Alissa's Almond Butter Raisin Cookies to the dogs... Snif! Snif! Can't wait til I get the Excalibur and get into bread-making though...

I would love to hear how they turn out. Everything I've tried that is thicker than a cracker is too mushy in the middle....YUCK! Let us know the end result.

Way back I tried the Bagelive and was not impressed with the flavor. Maybe it was me, so waiting on others responses.
