I'm hoping I can get some more advice :)
I have had all the stuff I need for a liver cleanse for about 6 months but I got really sick so couldn't do it. Then about 4 months ago I went raw and just lately - about 3 weeks ago - I started feeling heaps better. This morning I saw the liver cleanse sheet on the table and had a really strong feeling that Im ready to do it. I know that my liver is overloaded (not from alcohol! lol) and it needs help...
The thing I'd like some help with is which approach to take. My herbalist has given me the 'oil followed by hot fenugreek/peppermint/flaxseed/(some other seed)ginger tea' method but now I'm raw, I know that simmering the seeds/herbs will kill them right? And then, I've also read some pretty interesting stories here about an 'apple juice and lemon juice/olive oil' one...
I got gallstones when I was 20 (11 yrs ago) from an over-acid system so no longer have my gallbladder (thanks western medicine!). Do I have to bear that in mind when deciding which to go with? Or could I just go for it? I know it's my responsibility and my decision but I'd really appreciate any info/links/experiences that might help me make the best decision for my body in its current damaged state...
Oh, I should mention that I've also done 5 master cleanses/detoxes in the past year, so I'm pretty comfy with cleansing in general :)
Thanks so much!

Hi :)

I haven't done any of the cleanses that I've read about here, I tried the Dr Natura one a few months ago but keep forgetting to take it.

I also am missing my gallbladder thanks to various excuses given by the medical world. I have found that if I just do a juice fast for a few days it's fine on my body. I haven't added oils or anything, just juice whatever sounds good at the time and I try to add some greens to it as well.

Good luck with whatever you decide to try :) Let us know how it works for you!

Thanks star1919! It's great - I had no idea there was so much support for raw fooding!
Thanks too Coriander. Lots of sites I've checked out recommend pretty much the same thing > apple juice fast for 3 days followed by a one-day flush of epsom salts, olive oil and lemon juice. I'm thinking of doing it next week if I can get one or 2 days off... my poor liver needs some help just now! I'll definitely tell you how it goes...

You might also investigate the cleanses as outlined in:

The Cure for all Cancers by Hulda Clark

To the best of my knowledge they are the best cleanses out there. She has a whole protocol to follow starting with a parasite cleanse (almost all of us have parasites [even in northern climates]). She also addresses gallbladder, kidney and liver.

Well, I decided to go with the liver cleanse because that's what my body seems to need just now. Like it says in the instructions, I've been no-fat for 3 days, and drinking and eating loads of apple juice/apples to soften the stones. Now it's day 4 I've just taken the first of 4 Epsom Salt solutions and the taste didn't worry me at all (go drinking straws, lol) but I do have awful pains in my tummy and visions of me meekly explaining to the emergency department of my local hospital that I voluntarily took the ES without realising they were poison... :D No, really, I wouldn't go near a hospital if I was dying, (which it kind of feels like I am... but I'm sure that'll pass one way or the other... preferrably the other!) More ES in an hour or so, then the 3/4 cup of olive oil... I really hope this works!! I want to see loads of stones come out!! Umm... heh, sorry if that's TMI
Anyway, I just thought I'd give an update seeing as some people asked me to
ABG (there's no 'sick' smiley so you'll all just have to imagine there's one right, -X- there. lol

Hi Alba and eatyourbroccoli
The cleanse was awesome - I got about 2 cups of stones out, all about the size of a pea. I posted about it - it's called 'Yay!! Liver cleanse worked!' lol. As it happens, I'm on day 2 of another one... I can already feel my body slipping into since cutting out the fats. I'm hoping I don't feel as sick this time around, but I'm going to go through with it even if I do - I know it works and after last time, I know there's more crap to come out :p

I just did it once with oil and lemon, and was so sick the whole night that I did not even look if I got any stones out. But I decided next time I better try the juices way, even if it is longer and more exensive(A lot of fruit). That was actually one of several times in my life where I was afraid I would die. I don't think drinking so much oil after apple juice fasting is very healthful, even if it helps to get rid of stones. There must be better way.

Oh GILA, I am so sorry to hear you were so ill... I hear ya girl! It's an awful feeling. I remember the first time I did it - I had mental pictures of me booking myself into hospital for self-poisoning. lol. I wish you'd checked for stones - that's what made it all feel worthwhile for me...
I'm curious - do you have a gallbladder? And no, maybe doing this straight after an apple fast isn't such a good idea, though I read it's great to do after a colon cleanse for some reason..?
Hope you're feeling better
