Hi everyone,

I'm just starting to go 100% raw, but I've been familiar with the raw food diet for quite some time, I was just never completely dedicated to it until now. I've always eaten fairly healthy, so I never experience anything out of the 'norm' with my reactions to food.. however, this morning I was on the other side of town and instead of eating at Starbucks, I went to Jamba Juice and had a 12oz cup of fresh carrot juice with a 2oz shot of wheatgrass. It sat in my stomach all day long and made me incredibly queasy. It's 9pm now and my stomach is still 'off'. Does anyone know what I did wrong?? It was the only thing I had for breakfast, so maybe that was it? Is wheatgrass not something to drink on an empty stomach??

Thanks for your time :)

You're probably just not used to it.

WheatGrass should be sipped. You must build up your tollarence to it. I used to drink it and lay down. It is best to eat something or mix it with other juice.

Wheatgrass should be taken on an empty stomach. I agree you are probably not used to it. It IS powerful (good, sweet) stuff. I drink about 2-3 ounces every morning! I love it. I even lick out my cup! :p I have never had an adverse reaction to it. I usually wait between a half an hour to an hour then eat something - fruit smoothie or fruits.

Vegan,
Any hints for beginners "luck" to drinking this stuff? I sure wish I could think of loving this potent "gold", but first I want to start growing it so I can have my own stash here. I have plenty of room, so no excuses other than haven't done it yet. I even want to use it to wash my hair. Thanks.

It IS powerful stuff. Makes me queazy, I haven't got used to it becasuse I don't have access to it in my town, and I don't grow it. I may start and gradually get used to it. I haven't had any since I vomited it at Wild Oats in Tampa, though. Even the smell of a young wheat field makes me queasy now.

Hmmmm, not sure. I just instantly loved the sweet taste of it. I had bought frozen and drank that waiting for my crop to come in and once I tasted my homegrown? Whoa! There was no comparison! I would suggest looking online about it and how to adjust to the taste of it...
sorry I'm not much more help.

I think you drank too much too soon. Next time, start with 1/2 ounce and work your way up.

It is so good for you!
