I tried to do high raw a couple weeks ago and I lost my breastmilk. Yesterday I went 100% raw and I have an abundance of it! I took some of your suggestions and started pumping in between and doing lots of juices---it works great! Thanks y'all. :)
I had no idea being 100% raw instead of just high-raw really makes that much of a difference! huh.

I'm so glad you didn't give up! That's one lucky baby you've got! :)

Thank yoU! And it just keeps getting better. Usually when I have too much milk I get too full and uncomfortable...kind of like engorgement I guess. But now I have plenty of milk and none of the discomfort. My little guy is huge! He's just 2 months old and weighs close to 15 lbs. He has a cottage-cheese belly and rolls so thick I can't get my fingers under them! Haha! The one time in his life it'll be acceptable to be fat and drool a lot. :p

I am still breastfeeding my 8.5mo twins (breastfed them excusively untill they were 6.5mo), and I am on and of the raw wagon all the time. My milk supply during my raw days is really abundant. I've noticed the lettuce is one of my 'milk producing' foods, as well as coconut (and plenty of water).

Is that why it's called lettuce (lac-tuca)?

What is the difference between high raw and 100%.

just a note that Gabriel Cousens says it's essential to take a B-12 supplement while breastfeeding. :)

Hello, I am a breastfeeding counselor, and I am new to this form. I am moving into raw for health reasons and beauty, I got a compliment on my lovely newly 40 year old skin from my orthodontist today 2 weeks high raw and moving closer to 100 percent. But it is great to hear what you are saying about your experience with raw and nursing. I will tell my clients I have who are raw about your experience. :)

I am new to the raw food talk group. I found you by searching the net. I have been dealing with hyper-thyroid for 5 years. I searched on the net to find alternative help after I had a goiter and was diafnosised with hyper-thyroidism after my fourth child was born. I found a wealth of help all said go raw. Many said I went raw and it went away. That inspired me but after the symtoms went away I fell off. I am back, I love raw food. I am challenged with not preparing before I am hungry and eating what I am use to when I am tired and hungry. I found Virtoria Bentako from Rawfamily and Green for life. Green for life were holiday gifts last end of the year holiday season. My mother in law shrank her goiter by doing green smoothies, glocoma is gone after almost 50 years of glocoma. I just wanted a group to be apart of while I use earth to heal myself and support me when I am low.
I also love hearing people say the loose weight. I want 50lbs gone. Raw has not helped me loose weight very well though. My husband and I did 100 %raw for three months straight. He lost 25lbs. I bloated 15 and lost that fifeteen by the end of the thrre months. I bloated 15 this time and with the juicing I have come down 5 in just the second week.
Thank You for listening I am on a journey to heal and create new life in me.
thank you

I gain weight on raw too...and I have at least 30 to lose. After doing it for months on end I realized it wasn't working for me. My issue was that I was doing a nut-based diet, not a greens based diet. My other issue was that all the fruit sent my blood sugar out of control. I have since eliminated the fruit and cut WAY back on the nuts and am doing far better. I lost 6 pounds in a week.

I get frustrated sometimes by people saying that your body will tell you what it needs. In theory it should, but it doesn't always. I was ready to walk away from being raw because I believed that. I now realize that it takes a long time for some to get in touch with the body's inherent wisdom.

I will also say-on the nursing front...I was on many galactagogues to maintain my supply. Once I figured out my macronutrients I was able to go off all of them. Greens are the big thing! And yes, take B-12. Your body's stores will not transfer to the breastmilk. I found that out the hard way.
