I've been following 811 since January. I got down to 110 pounds (I'm 5'3"). Lately I'm back up to 116. I haven't changed a single thing except adding more greens. I exercise for two hours a day, I watch everything I eat, I never eat overt fat, and I'm still gaining! I don't understand, and it is making me absolutely obsessed. I was so glad to eat raw because I didn't have to count calories or worry about this, but now I feel like it's happening all over again. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

The average "rule of thumb" for females is 100 lbs at 5 feet, and 5 lbs for each inch over. You're at a good weight at 116. Your body is probably trying to tell you that.

I would say watch your dried fruit intake if you're eating that. You say you're working out and it's most likely muscle mass, which is a GOOD think. The number on the scale is just that...a number. It doesn't define you! Just stay raw and keep going with that!

I don't eat dried fruit, so that's not the problem. Thanks for the advice and support!

Hey Daisyduke,
Could the six pounds be lean muscle? Two hours workouts every day!! I would think that you would have to put on some mass with that much working out. Or it could be that you are stressing way to much and putting your body out of wack.
Take care of yourself and don't stress so much.
Have a great day, Kevin

Do you know what you are gaining - muscle or fat? If you are working out 2 hours a day - whew! - it sounds like this could be muscle weight.

I don't think it's muscle, as I've been working out this much for a long time now. Maybe since I added the greens I've been able to add muscle?

If you are really concerned you could pay to get your fat percentage analysed.

1st: 116 pounds is a good healthy weight as CodaJess said, and 2nd: any chance you could be expecting

Water weight can fluctuate quite a few pounds.....as can the unexpected development of muscle (as the great posts indicated above). Eating processed foods will promote retention of weight...as will excess salt.
-If eating all non-processed food, then you should stablize at a good weight for your build.
-No worries, eh? What more can you do except eat the highest diet you know...and get good exercise...and of course realize who you truly are. :)

This is why I have become content with having an "ideal" weight range and not one set number. Mine stablilized at a range of between 124 and 128 (at 5'4") and has been that way for the last couple of years.

I agree Rawkinlocks! I am getting to the point of realization that your weight can fluctuate a few pounds for no apparent reason besides your body working some type of magic you are not aware of!

Sounds like muscle to me too or H2O retention
Skip exercise for 3 days and weigh again, be sure you are always using the same scal on the same level surface in the same clothes/ or naked.
If weighing on a home scale then place on the concrete slab of your gargage,, most vinyl bathroom floors give.

Are you drinking more smoothies now than before?
If so, you're probably digesting everything more efficiently, which means you're absorbing more calories from the same amount of food. Since blending breaks things up into smaller particles than your teeth can (unless you spend hours chewing), you'll absorb the food better when it's blended.
Also, since you upped the greens, you might be producing more hydrochloric acid in your stomach- also making your digestion more efficient.

Scales can make you obsessive. Wouldn't life be great without them. I always weigh in the morning because I know I will be 2 lbs lighter.

Winter is coming and it could be that your body wishes to protect you from the cold with a little extra weight. Maybe for those few pounds you would be fighting mother nature!
