i've been doing very well lately, eating raw okra, avocadoes, tomatoes for afternoon and evenings and fruit mostly during the morning and midday but this morning i was fixing my husband some cooked rice for his lunch because he says all raw doesn't feel him up. He has a very physical job and he is making a real effort when he's here at home.
Well this morning he some rice here and i ate some, not much but i did eat some of it, when your body is showing a slight weight loss will eating bits of cooked food hinder the progress?
I haven't eaten anything else cooked today just the little bit of rice, did i hurt my chances at losing weight?
I've read that sometimes others have had cooked moments, what did you experiece from it?
Thanks for the support.

It was just a few bites right? I don't think that'll hurt you. Now, if you were eating eating just 95% or less of raw combined with cooked all the time it can affect your weight loss because you body is redirecting it's energy to get those poisons and toxins out instead of working on the excess weight. Don't worry about it, ok? There may be a stall for a day, but just keep up with 100% raw and water.

I do sometimes eat a bite or two of cooked food but everytime i eat loads of raw to try and make up for it.
It is not very often but it happens usually once a week, i don't feel heaviness or sick from it.
Thanks

I agree. I think you probably don't have too much to worry about. As long as most of your food is raw, then you'll be fine. :)

:) I was concerned because even though some of the people on this forum might be "high raw" i wasn't sure if it would affect my losing weight.
Thank you. :)

it does less harm if you do it in the morning or middle of the day than at night?
It can be difficult when you are preparing cooked food for other members of your family not to taste it or sometimes even get a spoon full and mix it with other raw veggies. Has anyone had this experience?

Personally I think that a little bowl of rice is a better choice than a cup of nuts, or some really heavy, miscombined dehydrated "raw" meal.
That is my opinion, not saying that cooked food is better than raw, but there are certain choices that are superior to many of the non-fresh raw foods and recipes out there.
The only challenge with choosing a 'healthier' cooked option is that in some people it may open bring back some addictive eating behaviors, causing a downward spiral to eat more cooked food, that of which may not end up being a better option than the rice or steamed veggies.

Sharon in Colorado, Your reply just did well to remind me that overdoing nuts and fat is not conducive to optimum healing! This has always been my challenge. It is so easy for me to be 100% raw, but within those boundaries, I ALWAYS overdo the "treats". arghhh.
I always wonder... when I eat something that is not properly combined, and get gas... are those "toxins" of some sort that the body needs to spend a lot of energy to deal with?

Thank you - I was hoping it didn't come across as a "pro-cooked" thought, I'm glad that you saw it how it was intended.
The gas could be just from your current digestive capabilities. I know of someone who is a long time raw fooder, who doesn't have problems when eating some mis-combined meals once in a while. So when the digestion improves through raw, it could very well handle the more complex combinations better then before.

I was under the impression that most people new to raw suffer gas and bloating, that it is part of the adaptation process for your body, that most of us have too little stomach acid and or too little of the good stomach flora found in probiotics-acidopholus - just takes time to adjust. When I started a probiotic was given to me to help ease this transition.

I've never bee able to have a one bite slip up without it turning into a full transitional moment of RAW/SAD combo foods for the day.
