This might be a "different" kind of poll, but for those who store their extra avocados in the refrigerator, I'd like to know if you do so before or after they ripen?

This will be interesting to see what everyone votes on this, I store them in the fridge after they ripen.

hmmm, usually I will leave them out and if I notice them starting to ripe to rapid I will throw them in the fridge. If I have alot I will refridge the majority and leave a few out for the week. If I know I can't use them before they overripe then I freeze them for smoothies.

The results are interesting, I usually throw them all in the fridge and they actually slowly ripen in there if left long enough - but I usually try to take one out at a time so that in a day or so they are ready to use.
This last time though I left them on the counter and forgot about them. This morning I noticed they were pretty ripe so I quickly put them in the fridge.

I keep them on the counter until they just start to get soft, then stick 'em in the fridge. It seems they can turn from 'just ripe' to rotten very quickly! I hate it when that happens!

I usually leave them on the counter. I havent been able to get the hang of putting them in the fridge. They seem to go from unripe to rotten in 48 hours in my fridge. Possibly a temp/humidity thing?

I refrigerate them right away and then slowly ripen in the fridge.

I usually only buy two at the time and have them ripening right next to my apples, usually there is one ripe each day and I buy every other day or so..

I find them so scrummy that I'm usually witing for them to ripen so I can eat them - they never make it into my fridge :D
Kass.
I throw them in my fridge right away, cause before this diet I never ate avacodos and I just thought they should be refrigerated. It has worked out good for me so far and they seem to have kept a few weeks before rotting.

I don't like to eat them cold. So if I buy 4-6 at a time they all stay i a bowl on the counter. If I buy a bunch extra firm I'll put them in the fridge and then force rippen them by putting them in a bowl with ripe bannanas the day before I'm going to eat them.

Hehe! This is me as well. I never really put them in the fridge. Just left them on the counter and eaten them pretty quickly after I buy them. If they are not quite ripe, then I just let them ripen on the counter.
