please guide and suggest to me that am i doing it correct or is there some need to make changes in what i am doing in morning first thing i do is drink lukewarm water with ginger and lemon mixed to detox my lungs, than i do pranayama (Yoga) for about nearly 50 minutes after that i drink fresh herb tea without sugar and milk, than i take bath and eat breakfast which is consist of milk and Kellogg's chocos, bread with butter and eggs along with milk shake made from milk than i leave for office and have about 2 to 3 cups of tea made from milk, sugar and tea- powder during the whole day, in afternoon i sometimes have homemade buttermilk
and than when i come back home i eat steamed diakon radish sometimes along with pineapple or steamed cabbage with black pepper you know i try to be creative with steam diakon radish along with fruits like apple or papaya and drink water and go to sleep by 12 clock midnight.
now my question is it correct thing that i am doing? if i am doing something wrong please advice and correct me as i really need help & suggestions to detox my liver and reduce obesity & excess fats and weight from my body, i do sometimes have craving for cooked food at night and also cheat sometimes.

If you are trying to eat raw, then I would suggest you give up all dairy and eggs first, see how that goes, then give up the cereal, then the sugar.
What you are doing simply will not work for you, if you are not doing it all of the time. You may feel a little bit better, but you can't have some ginger whatever and do yoga for 50 minutes, eat cooked the rest of the day and feel the same kind of results that the raw eaters are experiencing.
So if you have to give it up gradually, you might find that easier, or just "go for it" and give all raw your best 30 days you can!

ok I'm confused. You want to know if you're doing Raw right?????
You're eating and drinking milk products. Those are not Raw.
You're eating cereal. That's not Raw.
EGGS??? Butter???? Milk???
You're having cooked foods. Those are not Raw.
What exactly are you on this board for? You have stated your goals however what are you doing to become Raw?

I agree. Get rid of anything that is not raw and uncooked. If you're going to become Raw, that is what you must do. Go 100% Raw for 30 days and see how much better you'll feel. How can you expect to get the results you've heard and read about...if you continue to eat cooked food:eek:? Sorry if I seem a bit critical.
Steaming your food is NO GOOD:eek:. It kills all the enzymes, and all you're eating is dead cooked food. Sugar is a NO-NO...unless you're using raw agave syrup, and even then, a person must limit how much of it they use.

If you're having one meal raw and one meal cooked, it's better to have the raw meal first. I usually started the day with raw fruit, even when I was eating cooked.
You can get apples, papayas, pineapples, cabbage, and radishes raw. Start with that. Then see if you can get avocados or olives. Also look for green leafy vegetables. I know spinach is used in Indian food; lettuce is good, and there are lots of them in the cabbage family.
If you're going to eat grain, make sure it's whole grain. White bread is empty carbohydrate.

Sanjay - hi it's me again. If you do want to do this gradually, then I really suggest going completely vegan, get ALL animal products including dairy and eggs out of your diet. Then do your 1 raw meal for breakfast (lots of fruit, smoothies, etc.), and eat your standard vegan food the rest of the day.
Try that for a week, then see if you can do breakfast and lunch raw.
This may or may not work for you. Sometimes it's easier for folks to go all raw right away, but you might want to see how you do all vegan first.
I think you told me before that you were having meat, so it looks like you've stepped up a little already which is good.
You are doing GREAT though. Keep stepping up to your goal!

Sanjay, I've lived in India and there are plenty of raw fruits and vegatables available, even if they're not organic. Actually, I'm surprised you found Kellogg's Chocos cereal. :) You're far better off eating more traditional cooked Indian foods than processed foods like cereal, which are completely devoid of nutrition. I agree with the above suggestions: get rid of the dairy and animal products first, then begin
introducing raw meals into your routine.
Best wishes, keep moving closer to raw,
Robbie

Hi and great to have you from India!!! Good friends of ours are Indian and have the best Indian restaurants in town here......I miss saag paneer ;) have yet to make a raw version
Anway, do you know any thing about raw food diet and why raw food in its natural state is so crucual with our daily eating?
As far as advice, just by looking at what you eat, the lemon in the morning is almost useless b/c you follow with lots of dairy and eggs. They are mucous forming foods and tires the liver quickly. Just like the other posters have said, narrow your dairy and eggs.
Coffee is another concern as it is poison to the central nervous system and dehydrates you.
I"m sure you have fresh foods there in India. I mean mango lassis are popular there aren't they. You can have fresh mangos for breakfast. Cabbage, cilantro, parsley, eggplant, cucmbers are ingredients they use in alot of your Indain dishes.....do you really not have these foods in you market
I believe one our other member is from India.....I think she ordered Alissa's book thru a store out there.

Hi, we are all in a process here, and sometimes we forget that not everyone knows everything about eating raw foods.
let me just say that on this forum, we are here to support eating raw vegan foods, which means we eat fruits vegetables nuts seeds and sprouted grains in their unheated (not above 115 degrees farenheit) to maintain their enzymes.
so we don't eat dairy, or meat or animal products.
some do eat cold pressed olive oils, and nama shoyu which is a raw soy sauce, but let's just talk about the easy stuff.
so, organic is great, but if you can't get it, just eat what you can get,
but nothing boxed, packaged, canned or heated abover 115 degrees.
so, when we talk about drinking mylks, we are talking about making nut milks or grain milks and drinking them, or when we talk about something with a butter, we are probably talking about an almond butter or cashew butter.
when we are talking about eating cake or pie, we are talking about a nut and date crust, with fresh fruits not cooked fruits in the middle. just to let you know.
sometimes, we are so caught up in our own nomenclature, that we forget it takes time to learn all of this stuff.
so this is the easiest way.
go to the store, or market, go to the fresh fruit area, and pick out lots of fruits and vegetables, and nuts and seeds that you enjoy eating, get them as close to fresh off the tree as you can, then take them home, eat them, then do that over again.
It's really that easy.
Now, if you do wish to make some milk to drink here is a couple of recipes.
Almond milk
1 cup almonds out of the shell
3 cups filtered water
take the almonds and place them in a bowl, cover with water and allow to soak over night, rinse them off, place them in a high speed blender with 3 cups of filtered water, blend on high for about 1 minute, then pour this mixture, through a cheese cloth, or nut milk bag, or jelly bag, or any kind of tight weave material so you can keep the pulp to use in something else, but you will have the liquid as the milk.
You will need to pour this into a container, or large bowl, you are drinking the liquid, it is mildly tastes of almonds, if you wish it to be sweet, place it back in the blender with two or more dates, (make sure to take the pits out of the dates) and blend, you can add a dash of salt if you like, we like to use sea salt here, but I'm not so worried about that, you can also add some cardamom, or cinnamon or nutmeg, any spices you like, I like to take one cup of almond milk
and one cup of ice
3 dates
dash of cardamom
dash of nutmeg
dash or two of cinnamon
and blend in a blender, this makes a wonderful milkshake.
please try this with other nuts too, if you use cashews, you do not need to strain them, they will be thick and frothy.
You can make many things buy just chopping and combining them
I really love to eat
1 large tomatoe chopped
5 or 6 kalamata olives (raw- take out the pits)
1/2 cup pine nuts (or any nuts)
3 or 4 hot peppers
a dash of lemon juice or vinegar
a dash of olive oil
1/4 cup minced fresh basil or any herb
this is really good, just mix and eat.
you can add salt and/or pepper if you like.
Please let me know how you like these recipes, they are some of my favorites.

sanjay the milk you made sounds good. As RP posted, you might want to strain it through some kind of sieve or cloth bag if you don't want the pulp, and then save the pulp if you wish for another use.
If you are not drinking a ton of this milk, it should not affect your cholesterol. You may not need to worry unless you have a family history of high cholesterol and heart attacks. My cholesterol is genetic so I have to watch my fat more than the average person. Anyway, you want to focus on fresh fruits and vegetables, so having this milk once or twice a day if necessary to get you by until you reach your goal is perfectly fine.
I don't know if avocados are available in India. Well, this is the 'sauce' that is used with the spinach to make that spinach recipe. You could use blended soaked almonds or cashews (maybe 1/2 cup soaked almonds or cashews with a little water) if you do not have the avocado. It is pretty much chopped up spinach with mashed avocado and seasonings. And it's not cooked. It is delicious. It is very paneer-like without it being paneer.
You are very fortunate to be by all those lovely mangos - I wish you all the best - eat a meal of mangos until full and you will see how wonderful it is to enjoy the simplicity and taste of whole fresh foods!
You are doing great! :)

The temperature I go by (from Comiendo Pura Vida) is 47 °C. But I was once on an airplane next to a guy who had just come from India and he said it was 50 °C where he came from. Where in India are you and how hot does it get there?
Also, a blender heats up what it blends. For some recipes you have to start with frozen ingredients to make sure that they don't get too hot.
