I was thinking of making these pumpkin tarts for thanksgiving. http://gliving.tv/greenchefs/sarma/Pumpkin-Tart/index.php
Now before I make them I just wanted to clarify, is it just me or should they have some pumpkin in them?

I was talking with a friend about this very thing and we just figured that it has the flavor of pumpkin pie...the spices used mainly...without the pumpkin. Perhaps they discovered that using actual pumpkin didn't work out right (?)
Kinda like we make mashed "potatoes" without the actual potatoes or "pasta" and sauce without using actual (wheat-based) pasta, etc.
But perhaps you might write an email to them for better clarification.

Thanks for the quick reply! I think I'll write them an email just to make sure before I use up all the ingredients, but that totally makes sense.
Rawkinlocs saves the day again! :p

I wonder is the maple syrup that they use in this raw.

Hehehe.
Well in the actual recipe book Raw Food Real World, Matthew is quoted as saying "...we think it's far better than traditional pumpkin pie (which is generally made with gelatinous canned and pasteurized pumpkin). This version tastes fresher and more vibrant--and if you don't tell, no one will ever guess that there's not any actual pumpkin in it."
Concerning the maple syrup, in the book, it states it's not raw.
