One Leg Squat Vids

Well part of my 90 day Challenge goals are to teach myself one leg squats so here's a couple of vids showing where I'm at...

I wasn't going for numbers just proving I can do one...I've got a lot more work to do yet!

I'll probably post better ones at a later date!

Hi Fruititarione!

Just a suggestion if you want to try it................it will make it much easier to balance if you cross your resting leg over your working leg just above the knee being careful not to put any pressure on your knee cap area. When you do this then you will still be able to squat down getting just as much strenght in your working leg as well as getting a great amount of strengthening in your abs as well. I hope you understand what I mean, so like you legs will look like a number "4".

I just noticed that it looks like you are having a bit of trouble balancing and I thought this might help you out as you will be able to complete many more squats!

Let me know how it goes!

Yeah I'm just learning ...I started these on Monday so it's taken me 3 days to get this far....I really wasn't expecting to be able to do this at this point!, infact that's the first time I've attempted them un-aided I usually hold on to a pole and do them and my form is much better:wink: ....but I've still got tons of work to do though, just thought I'd share... I'm real happy with my progress so far!

I'm gonna stick with the way I'm doing it now...but thanks anyway.

Also pressing your tongue against the roof of your mouth helps with balance. I do that as well as place my palm over my stomach in taekwondo, helps enomously with balance as I'm like a 6'0 tree ready to fall over with one leg up.

I can do those easily. But I'm lacking in upper body abilities.

F1, you beast! I tried it and got down maybe 1/4 of the way you can... really thought I'd be able to do better, what with all my running and kickboxing :(

You're quite the inspiration! I'm going to keep working on those.

O yes I can do those to. Why don't you have two chairs on each side of you like I use. Why you must be doing them WRONG(*_*)

You are doing a FANTASTIC Job. I wish you all the POWER you need. Keep up the GOOD works and keep posting..........

One-legged squats require strength and stability rather than endurance. You'll need more training than just running and kickboxing.

Farmer's Walk (http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/strongman13.htm) is a good training for something like this.

Haha, yeah....you could also stick your tongue out as far as you can, and then keep the balance with your tongue.......that means if you can get the right amount of leverage that way.....LOL!!!! :p

You could call it 'one tongue squats' then....cuz whatever you do, youll do it with one tongue only!!!
