View Full Version : Is this an illness or a detox?

Yesterday, since several avocados ripened at once, I ate several avocados, putting the rest in the fridge. This morning, I woke up feeling slightly ill. I took a warm bath and measured my temperature at 37.5 °C, which didn't worry me much. I thought it might be caused by the avos, so I made my salad without them. I finished my day, but had to massage my arms and legs, possibly to move lymph. I thought that since I had eaten a large amount of raw fat, I was detoxing something in fat. I went home.
On arriving home, I ate some frozen fruit and took a hot bath. My temp was
38.1 after eating frozen fruit
38.5 after soaking in 40 °C water
39.4 after soaking in 42 °C water with my legs over the side.
I am fasting tonight and tomorrow (I follow the observational calendar, not the precalculated one), but since I appear to be ill, I am going to drink water. Any idea what this is?

Tell us when you started being 100% raw, and maybe start being really concerned if it hasn't left in 3 days, i'm guessing it's a detox.

maybe your body temp just rose because you were submerged in hot water..?
or it very well could have been because you ate so many avos, and its just your body reacting poorly to all of the fat your liver now gets to sort through.
i know i get really sick when i eat too much raw fat.
but then again, my body is sometimes like a difficult toddler that refuses any/all forms of appeasement :p
good luck figuring it out

ps
i think the water fast is a good idea either way. whatevers goin on with your body, that should help to do the trick.
pps
whats the observational calendar? im intrigured. (or maybe just ignorant).

I just woke up and my temp is 36.8 which is normal.
The observational calendar begins a month when someone in Israel sees the new moon (or would have been able to, had there been no clouds). The precalculated calendar assumes that a lunation is some fixed number of chalaqim (a cheleq is 10/3 seconds) and that there are exactly 7 leap months in 19 years and adds some rules that prevent certain holidays from falling on Friday or Sunday. The two calendars are usually a day or two different.
Why would a detox cause a fever? I thought a fever was for fighting infections.

I think our bodies detox in mysterious ways. Think about it. All that gunk in there and then we flush them out with raw, living foods? I think a fever w/detoxing is normal.
