Hello again! I recently posted a question about how to start feeding a dog raw food. I have purchased some organic chicken necks and Nature's Variety (http://www.naturesvariety.com/conte...A4EyjQ4382CD 7 ) raw medallions. My dogs really seem to enjoy it. They get one chicken neck and 4-5 medallions per day (they weigh less than 10 pounds).

So my question is: what is a good raw treat for them? Usually when they come inside from going out they get a treat. I haven't found anything that is raw that can be small enough for a treat. I've tried several different types of fruits, and my dogs don't like it at all.

Another question too: My one dog shakes when she eats the raw food. She never shook before while eating. She really really enjoys eating the raw food (sometimes I have to hold her back from eating too fast and too much). Should I be concerned about this?

Thanks so much for your input.

My dog loves carrots and apples. I have been told green beans are good for this but haven't tried it. You might try concocting something out of egg and veggies in the dehydrator for him/her? I don't have a dehydrator yet but am thinking I might try some jerky things and some egg things for my little princess...who loves raw, but my cats are not amused! :)

I have a 70 lb choco lab and feed her about 2.25 lbs of raw meat, with bone in every day. Once in the morning and once at night. Since we are both raw she eats fruits and veggies with me thru out the day. I also give her 1 marrow bone a day. So it is hard to find a treat that is raw and nutritious.

I have been using dried liver and chicken. They are expensive but having a small dog they will last a long time. You can cut the cubes up into much smaller pieces. Then your dog will get a great treat and nutrition that is needed. If you could dehydrate your own it would be 100% better though...

Try avocado. My guys go crazy for it. Not too much, though, a little goes a long way (too much fat). I use dehydrated liver as a treat as well as various types of fruits and veggies. Just experiment with what you are eating. I'm sure your dogs will eventually like some of it.

All the best,

Mine agree on tomatoes. I am not finding however, that feeding the dogs raw is cheaper at all! Not in a position to place an on-line order at this time....the old fat man is getting spunkier and even though he has been losing teeth - he keeps up with the young'un when it comes to chewing his raw meat. Actually - he chews it better - she inhales it!
