View Full Version : No detox?

Okay, I haven't given up my organic decaf coffee yet. Otherwise, I am probably now 95% raw since early Sept.

Thus far, I have had no known symptoms of detox. Now, I do have some red spots on one side of my face and on my lower legs, but I don't know if that would be detox.

Is there something wrong with me? Shouldn't I have SOME symptom by now?

A second question while I have you. I get bored with eating. I love eating raw, but I am hungry much of the time. I let myself be hungry because I am tired of eating, or maybe that I am tired of trying to figure out something to eat. Is it okay if I eat tons of fruit? That seems to be the thing I don't mind getting when I am hungry. Sometimes I just would rather be hungry than eat something. Am I weird?

-All your reactions are normal - and thank you for your intelligent questions. It did not take you a couple of months to arrive at whatever your health conditioning is now....and it probably will take more than a couple of months to fully explore the length and breadth of the physical / emotional / lifestyle changes you will undergo.

-If you are having a 'no' or 'light' detox......and you are comfortable...then you are doing it right!

-If you are hungry...and you KNOW you are eating enought....than that is an emotional / thought hunger.....and you have to explore what you are not getting psychologically and provide that for yourself.

-Just my opinions - which I hope are helpful. The wonderful folks on this board and myself are standing by to support you 100%.

-Remember that there are no raw food police. Be true to where YOU are comfortable - and stretch from there.

How do I know if I am eating enough? My stomach grumbles away. Fruit goes through me quickly. I can be hungry less than an hour after a green smoothie.

Good questions. If you are eating enough bulk - you should feel full. You can use your intelligence to know if you you are getting what YOU think is enough nutrition. So....if you are getting the bulk (feel full) and nutrition....then anything else must be an emotional / psychological issue. If you are still thirsty when there is a glass of water in front of you....THAT is another issue entirely! LOL.

-In the beginning, I would try to work in as great a variety of raw foods as possible. Later, if you've been eating very healthy for a long time.......you can try refinements like mono-eating, fasting, etc.

-Personally, I believe eating fruits is very healthy. I've eaten nothing but fruit for years - so I'll support you 100%.

-It's all according to what YOU think. If you have problems, I suggest simpler eating (1 thing at a time) but a wide variety throughout the day. Supplement if you are worried about nutrition.

-Just some suggestions.
