I have only used soaked flax seeds but I would like to try ground. Does anyone do them this way? I want to make cinnamon graham crackers for my kids. Do you grind and then soak, or soak and then grind? I'm thinking I'll add some ground almonds in too...anybody?

I soak flax seeds overnight if you want a thick base to start with, otherwise, I don't soak, just grind in coffee grinder and use!

All depends on what you are doing. For crackers like your speaking of I would just grind and use!

Good Luck!

what would bind them in that case?

usually the other indgredients that you are using will bind them. If you are using all dry indgredients just add water or juice to the mix just a little at a time until you get the texture you want. HTH :)

soaked flax seeds will not grind..they will just swirl around your blender. I grind mine first in a small grinder until its a fine flax flour. I then add them to the rest of the ingredients along with water. The ground flax seed will still absorb the water just like the whole ones.

Thanks! I was thinking I'd have to soak the flour. Off to try!
