Hi, I live in NJ and I was high raw over the summer, fell off the wagon and am struggling w/addictions again. I would like to try MC, where do I get the recipe and directions? And where can I find Grade B maple syrup? Can I use regular maple syrup? I saw Grade B online for $42 for a half gallon, I don't t hink I'll need th at much!
Is there anything I need to be aware of? I work 2 jobs, not stressful, but I jsut want to be prepared...
Thanks....

Hello- About the MC-go to Mastercleanser.com for more info. About the syrup, you want to use organic Grade B Maple Syrup-not regular maple syrup. Check your local health food store or Whole foods. I think I may have even seen it in Trader Joes.
Good luck on the Cleanse and Hope you are successful in getting rid of your cravings!!
I loved it (the MC)!!

Do you lose muscle on MC? I have a lot of weight to lose and do NOT want to lose any muscle, just fat.
Does your body release the excess fat, or go into starvation mode, or what?
Thanks...

I am not sure exactly what I have lost. I know since being raw and doing the cleanse, over the past 2 months, I have lost 20 pounds and a lot of inches especially my waist/big belly is gone-almost flat.
During the MC, I really didn't lose weight, I lost inches during that time. I do wish to tone up a bit, and I never knew myself to really have any muscle.
Sorry I can't help you out with your question.

If you are near a Trader Joe's they carry a 2 quart bottle for under $10- And you will probable need even more, if you plan to stay on it for any time. You drink the juice whenever you feel hungry or low energy.........

I did the MC this summer for 16 days. It was great. Since you work 2 jobs there is something you might want to consider. The MC isn't just drinking the "lemonade" every day. To get full benefits you drink a laxative tea at night (or at your bedtime) and do a salt water flush in the morning. Now, alot of lax teas contain senna and that can wreak havoc on your system (stomach cramps and uncontrollable urge to move bowels) so you could find a "fasting" type tea or something else that may give you a cleansing benefit without the senna. However, there is still the salt water flush to consider. It is a fluuuuushshshshshsh. You're basically washing out your intestines and colon. This could mean several trips to the toilet over a 30 min - 3 hr. time period. IME it wasn't an uncontrollable urge but you do need to have access to a bathroom and the freedom for unlimited visits (to put it nicely :) ).
I wouldn't do the MC if I couldn't do the flush. The book says it's like sweeping in circles, never getting rid of the debris. There's another website devoted to MC that found helpful. Google MC and a site with raw or raw foods in the .com should come up.

Editted to add There is a book on the MC available at most health food stores and the like. I definitely recommend reading it. Also, whatever maply syrup you use just make sure it's real MS and not filled with other crap. Grade B is recommended b/c it has more minerals. You'll need more syrup and lemons than you can imagine so don't underestimate your supplies.
Do an amazon search for Peter Glickman, and buy his CD and book regarding the Master Cleanse. It will answer all of your questions.

I did the master cleanse last month for seven days (broke the fast on the morning of the eighth day. Trader Joes had the best price on Grade B syrup--conventional and organic. Amazing how much you use doing the fast. Lots of lemons or limes, too. I used limes due to the higher quality and lower price right now. Also did the Smooth Move tea p.m. and flush in the a.m. For me it was an hour for being by a bathroom, but not a problem. Will definately do the cleanse again. Was not hungry, but missed the action of chewing something so I guess it was out of boredom that I broke it at day 8.
Best of luck if you do the cleanse. Please keep us posted.

I was going to start the MC tomorrow but went today to the only healthfood store within 50 miles and they did not have the Grade B maple syrup. SO, I think I'm still going to start the MC tomorrow using molasses (which is what they recommend for people with diabetes..which I don't have), then switch over to the maple syrup when the syrup I ordered online arrives.
My goal is to do 10-20 days of MC, then go 100% raw!

I tried to do the Master Cleanse, but ran out of lemons and maple syrup. I plan on doing it again later this month. I was using Lemon Juice from Concentrate, which was all I could afford.
Instead of maple syrup, try agave nectar or molasses. If you're going to use maple syrup, make sure it wasn't processed with formaldehyde pellets:eek:. There are companies out there that use this chemical during the syrup making process. It's prohibited and illegal in the US.
Just wanted to make sure that everyone knows what exactly they're consuming.
