Hi! I just bought some raw cacoa beans, not nibs, and they have an outer peel on them. Does anyone know how to get the peel off? It says it slips off easily if roasted, but obviously, I don't want to do that.

I just eat it... they are heaps of good for you compounds in the skin, one that's been shown to be great for teeth!

Or you could put them in the food processor and whiz for a few seconds, then separate heavy beans from light skin.

Cheers,
Sheryl

if you soak them in water for a few mins the skin will come off a lot easier..dont throw them away tho..throw them in your plants because they are soo high in nitrogen.. a natural fertilizer!
