I disappeared for a long time. I had my second baby...a boy! My labor was three hours. midnight to one I thought it was false labor. 1-2 am I was sleeping. 2- 3:30 I was in transition and delivering (yay!) at home with no drugs.
My first labor was 6 hours, so this was about half of what my last one was.

I did 100% raw yesterday and lost my breastmilk, so I'm still doing just high raw.
GG, hubbie's home.

God Bless~!

Hey girl I remember you. Congrats on the delivery, sounds like everything came out quickly!

I've read that green juices are very good for making breast milk rich, also lots of fruit.

Try almonds and expressing by hand when babay is sleep to build up milk

Plus lots of water

My milk was always hard to come in (even after DD was months old) if I didn't drink enough fluids. I would drink alot....ALOT of fresh juices, and water! Best of luck to you.

Congrats on the baby!

You "lost my breastmilk" after one day on Raw??!! What does that mean really? You went to feed the baby and had no let down? If yes, you need to call a lactation specialist to get some help. Perhaps baby is not latching on well? I am pretty sure that it would take a pretty long time for your milk supply to "dry up" from a change in diet. As the others say, just make sure you are eating enough calories and more importantly, staying hydrated.

Although I would not recommend it, I have even fasted for a day (Yom Kippur) and my milk supply was never affected.

I have nursed 2 kids and in my experience, whatever your baby needs, your body will make. The more time you give baby at breast, the more your body will be stimulated to make more milk. The less is true in reverse.

Good luck,
emily

Hey, Welcome back and Congratulations!!

I am nursing too, my 11 day old baby girl. I have been doing one green smoothie and one green salad a day, on top of fruit and nuts... no problems with my milk or engorgement either. My milk came in smoothly without pain. First time for me. Her stools are green now and then but mostly look normal breastfed mustard seedy yellow. She is happy and sleeps well when she sleeps. :)

Yay! congrats again! New babies are so precious.

Congratulations!!

I have a friend that lost her milk every time she went all raw. Because of detox problems my baby was having I was sticking to high raw until two weeks ago. I have been all raw again but he isn't `as interested in nursing and I think it might be changing the flavor maybe because of detoxing. I am trying to wait it out and see...BUT he is nine` months old now and not a newborn.

Best of luck!!!

Thank you all for your congratulations and advice. I'm going to go raw again this weekend, I'll try your suggestions.

Congratulations Boysenberry! I'm curious to hear about your labor. :)

I wonder if anyone has had this experience...8 weeks and still bleeding? Iron levels are still fine, cervix is closed...I thought I was starting my period again, but that was 10 days ago. It's old and new blood. Any ideas?

I just had my little one at home too...congratulations. It's awesome isn't it? I delivered by myself and have some great pictures of it too!

If you are still bleeding (red) blood you need to take it easy. You could try some homeopathic phosphorous, but it's likely that you are overdoing it.

There are many herbs that will help with your supply and plenty of things you can do. Greens are huge. Be sure to keep us updated!
