I'm really craving olives right now but I can't get any raw ones without ordering from the internet. My question is, which variety are the nicest raw? I'd like ones that taste most like ones you buy in the shops in marinade, like in Marks and Spencer (do they have M&S in America?)

Anyways, any replies would be great,

TIA

Hi, I don't know which ones you mean by in the shops in marinade, but I love these olives..

I am not an olive fan and it's difficult for me to eat them, but these I put in salads, in veggie wraps, all sorts of things.

MY personal favorite are the kalamata olives. My mouth waters just typing this post about them. It depends on what kind YOU like...
What kind are they in M&S? If you could find out, then you'd know which to buy. Nope, don't think we have those stores here...
Did a quick look on the internet and found:

I doubt if they are raw, but see which ones it is you like and go from there...

I've tried Greek olives and Botilla olives from NFL. They are different, and I can't say which I like better in taste, but I can say which my wallet likes better. The price per gram is fairly close, but it takes me longer to eat a jar of dried Greek olives than moist Botilla olives.

Both Greek and Botilla are salted. I might try unsalted ones next time.

* are raw olives healthy? I vaguely remember reading somewhere there are
objections against raw olives.
