Hi... In the last 12 days... I've done two 4-day water fasts... my body feels lighter and energized. I feel clear. I am surprised by the simplicity of a water fast... and relative ease in doing them. I am a renewed fan of them!
And, I have noticed how easily it cleared any tendency for excess. It is so easy to eat beyond 'real' fullness... or to simply eat the amount of food or smoothie prepared. Taking a rest from eating... just drinking water... seems to have easily re-aligned my 'natural' sense of fullness and 'real' hunger.
I have changed how I 'think' about water fasting... I used to view it as difficult to do. Now, I have a sense of feeling relaxed with it... and as enjoyable. There is such a simplicity to water fasting...
There are many ways to fast... and there is value in the different ways.
There is a little book I like about fasting... The Fasting Handbook... Dining from an Empty Bowl by Jeremy Safron, It even suggests doing fasts from things like watching television or taking a day of not talking etc. A variety of little fasts that are interesting as well.
For me, I'm loving the simplicity of water fasting right now... and am feeling the subtle benefits of fasting. I have changed the way I view fasting... Rather than feeling it's 'difficult' to do... I'm enjoying it... and the ease of it. :p
