David Wolfe is a muppet.
And why are they called super foods?
So you empty your wallet/purse filling the pockets of those who promote and sell such products.

My defination.
A super food is one that gets us to spend more han we want on something that we do not need.
There is no magic bullet where food is concerned. Somethings have more of some substances and less of others. The only superfood is a balanced varied mixed diet.
If you want some of David Wolfe's raw chocolate then have it because you want it and enjoy it and not because he calls it a superfood.

Advertising slogan. To me, superfoods are foods that are super fresh and super jummy to eat. Like grapes straight from the vine, have you ever tasted that? Mmm.

Here's a try at a definition:
A superfood is a food such that there is a nutrient that it is an exceptionally good source of.
For instance, camu-camu and acerola are exceptionally good sources of vitamin C; so they are superfoods. I've seen pineapple tagged as a superfood; it is the only food source of bromelain, an enzyme that digests stray proteins in the body.

Fruit are exceptionally good source of carbohydrates, so they all are superfoods. :)

I agree completely. A friend of mine grows her own veg, and I'm just loving the supersweet cherry tomatoes she brought in for me :D

True superfoods are your fresh fruits and vegetables.
When you hear or read about superfoods for sale on websites, they are usually something that has had a larger degree of processing and packaging and flown across the world just so that you could spend a lot of money on it and put it in your smoothie.
