Another nut question

Okay, I tried to do a search on this concern but couldn't find an answer to my question: are the nuts supposed to be soaked in a covered bowl in the refrigerator? (I need to know specifics.) Thanks in advance. :o

Whenever I soak nuts I just put them in an open bowl or cup with water and leave them on the counter/ worktop. Works fine for me! Hope it helps :)
