I remember having to do that in high school P.E. class. I had no trouble getting up there but I did have trouble staying up there. We had to do it against the wooden bleachers that were pushed up to form sort of a wall. Your feet would rest against that, but my arms apparently weren't strong enough or something. We were supposed to stay up there for a full 60 seconds at always at about the 30 second mark, my shoulders would start going numb and my arms would want to give out on me. We did it in teams and if anyone in our team fell over, we'd all have to start over until we all did it for the full 60 seconds. We did have spotters and it got to the point where my two spotters would have to pull me up by my legs so my hands were just barely touching, but they'd have to make it look like they weren't. Horrid. Just horrid!
Another problem I used to have was being able to raise my arms above my head for very long. I had no problems dancing and doing arm movements, but if I had to do something like reaching up repeated to change light bulbs or hoist cans of paint up over my head to a high shelf, I'd get that same numbness and my arms would go weak.
Oddly, I have not noticed this weakness since going raw. But I've also noticed that my shoulder muscles have gotten really bulky and have stayed that way despite my having not worked out in weeks! I'd been having trouble with plunging BP and resulting dizziness so I was afraid to use the weights. That problem seems to have been resolved with a change of meds, although new problems have cropped up.
