I am 11 wks pregnant and got admitted to hospital tonight with flashing lights in my eyes, headache and confused speech. I was told that it was probably a migraine. I got lots of tests which were ok, and my blood tests were ok. However, I got the result that I had excess ketones in my urine and was told to eat more complex carbohydrates, as my body is using my fat stores for energy. Where can I get complex carbs for extra energy in a fairly high raw vegan diet? Would it be raw sprouted grains and pulses? I already eat a lot of fruit and veg, some nuts and seeds, sprouts, nori flakes, occasional sprouted/cooked pulses and some cooked grains.
Thanks!

Sprouted peas, chickpeas and lentils will all give you some carbs. So will corn. So will fruit.

You state that you eat fruits and veggies, but some are low in carbs; check these and plan accordingly.

The table below lists amount of carbohydrates in vegetables per 100g (3.5 oz). The calorie content of each vegetable is also given as almost all the energy in vegetables come from carbohydrates. http://www.weightlossforall.com/carbohydrates-fruit.htm
Carbohydrates in vegetables will vary between individual pieces and depending on cooking method. As most vegetables are boiled they absorb more water so the carbohydrate content of each vegetable will lower compared to the same weight when raw. All values are calculated from raw vegetables.

I have found so far that the main complex carbs are wholegrains, legumes, potatoes and root vegetables. Most of these can be eaten sprouted or raw, so that is good....
