Not to wear out my welcome here with all these posts about fundraising for the RunRaw Team, but we only have a month left, and I'm determined to raise the money to afford an ad in the Chicago Tribune about raw food to hopefully attract some attention from the general public and turn their lives around :D

I've added some thank-you gifts to the the RunRaw Team website. Quantities are very limited on most items, as we were given a small amount from the companies that contributed. http://www.runraw.org/gift.html

Some of the gifts available...

The best hemp products from Living Harvest (most of you here know how much I love hemp oil, protein powder and seeds! Superior nutritional sources for the raw foodist!!!)

Raw snack bar sampler packs with bars from Living Harvest, Go Raw and Life Force!

Goji Berries, Coconut Oil

Books from the Boutenkos (Raw Family) and from Dorit Dyke (who's an emerging name in Raw... pictured on Storm and Jinjee's homepage <http://thegardendiet.com> with their family)

Donation request amounts reflect approximately what you would probably pay for retail plus shipping. But remember... your donation is Tax Deductible, so it's like getting the stuff for free :D http://www.runraw.org/gift.html

Krista, I am so happy to see you mention Dorit. She is a wonderful person. Actually, she's been around the raw food scene for quite a while and is well known all over the world. She is a Depak Chopra educator in addition to being a raw food chef ... what a combination! I really like many of the recipes in her book. Plus, her loving and respectful spirit comes across in the prose sections. She puts on events locally that address the whole person, not just what they eat ... which I think is an effective and wonderful approach. I loved her Sacred Art of Eating workshop and it totally transformed the way I approach food. Plus, she's been incredibly supportive of the raw food community by generously donating copies of her book for various fundraising efforts.

As a matter of fact, on Friday night I'm attending a raw food Rosh Hashanah dinner followed by services. Yippee - she's serving her famous curry. Can't wait!

Anyone interested can peruse her website at:

your donation is Tax Deductible, so it's like getting the stuff for free :D

Please don't take offense at me for writing this, but that doesn't mean it's like getting it for free, you'd have to deduct many times the amount of something for it to come back to you. The amount you get back for deductions is a minute percentage of what you write off.

EastCoastie and Jen, thanks SO much for your support :D

RT... thanks for the rundown on Dorit! Yeah, I had a feeling she's one of those people who've "been around" that I just heard of. I don't know how she found out about the RunRaw Team, but SHE actually contacted ME to tell me she wanted to contribute! She's been to Chicago a couple of times, and sadly I didn't know she was a "must see." Next time she's here, I WILL NOT miss her! If you have an opportunity to speak with her on Friday, please tell her how much we appreciate her contribution... oh, and her wanting to work with Tim! (She offered to schedule some things I guess with my co-director Tim VanOrden of http://www.runningraw.com. I don't think he's taken her up on it yet. He's kind of overwhelmed right now)

Sharon, no offense taken, yeah, you're right. So it's more like spending your money without having to pay the government for the privilege of getting it ;)

How about a nice Living Harvest Hemp Sampler Pack! mmmm, mmmm good stuff, that hemp :)

RT... If you have an opportunity to speak with her on Friday, please tell her how much we appreciate her contribution... I'll definitely be talking to her. She donated a case of books to something I was raising funds for a few months ago, also. She's a gem.

oh, and her wanting to work with Tim! (She offered to schedule some things I guess with my co-director Tim VanOrden of http://www.runningraw.com. I don't think he's taken her up on it yet. He's kind of overwhelmed right now)Oh darn, I just gave my new roomie his contact number. She's a marathon runner who is in her second week raw and has some very specfic running-raw questions that I'd love for him to answer. Well, maybe, since he's local, he'll get to her. Fingers crossed!

I for one don't care if what I donate is deductable or not, if you understand the universal law of attraction that is. When you give money, time, love, or whatever you desire, you always get back ten times what you gave. How do you think the rich get richer. Forever Young

Dear Pansy and Foerver Young,

Since you didn't answer my email to you after your first post, and seem to want to make this thread all about what you think then I'll respond to your digs.

If you believe that posting a fact about a tax rule is being negative and uncharitable, than I'm certainly sorry you feel that way.

Sharon, For one, we never checked our email, number two, Pansy and I wrote two different posts. number three, my post was not a dig at you or anyone, it is a fact. This is why Pansy and I don't like to post on here very often, its very childish the way a lot of people respond back to others posts without knowing all the facts. There is a positive and a negative way to look at every post, its always amazing to watch how most people respond to a post on this site. Forever young
