I was just discharged from the ER this morning diagnosed with stomach ulcer. Doctor said to stay away from acidic foods while my stomach heals. And I thought I was doing so well on raw. It must be a bad combination with lots of stress at work.
So, after 2 weeks of feeling great on raw and never wanting to go back to SAD, I'm forced to eat cooked oatmeal this morning. I had the most horrible pain last night (couldn't sleep at all) and don't want to take a chance eating something acidic again. What else can I do?

Drink cabbage juice in the mornings on an empty stomach. My dad was scheduled to have his stomach removed due to stomach ulcers and it healed his tummy up in less then 2 weeks and can eat whatever he wants now.

Thanks everyone for replying. I'll drink lots of water.
Lay-Lay, how much cabbage juice did your dad drink every morning? Is it the regular green cabbage? What did you eat or drink the rest of the day?

Hi Lynn,
For all the presumed expert care you're getting, you are also getting some very bad advice. Among the raw foods you've been eating, which ones have you been told are "acidic"?
The fact is that oatmeal is an acid-forming food, as are most grains. Oatmeal may seem like an innocuous food but it is not suitable for the human body and will cause disease in those who eat it with any regularity. Eating oatmeal will only help keep your doctors in business, and you dependent on them.
The best way to heal ulcers is by not eating at all. The second best way is to eat only raw foods of our biological adaptation. It's quite possible to heal ulcers without going raw at all, as long as you remove the original causative factors. Identifying those factors should be your primary goal right now.
Stress used to be blamed for ulcers but in the last few years I've heard theories about bacteria or viruses. In reality, none of these cause ulcers. Stress does not cause disease at all. If anything, what we refer to as "stress" (really overstress) contributes to disease to the extent that it interferes with digestion when people eat while they are worried, sad, anxious or upset. The hormones that are released when these emotions are felt impede digestion. Foods that are eaten under these conditions turn to waste that must be eliminated. If a person makes a habit of doing this, the body becomes saturated in waste and chronic disease is the result.
I strongly urge you to get some qualified guidance about how to heal yourself of your ulcer. I can help if you're interested. Feel free to contact me through my website.
Best wishes,
Nora

I full glass of green cabbage juice. He ate light salads and soups for 3 weeks.
