Pre-made rice milk from the store is not raw.

I don't believe you can make it without cooking the rice, first, either.

I may be wrong.

Well it's not raw, as Codajess stated. You would make it by cooking the rice, blending with water (and sweetener, if desired), then straining.

So the only way, is, with cooked rice?

You could maybe soak rice and do it... try it and let us know... that's how all these wonderful recipes come about... trying it.

I actually contemplated trying to blend some uncooked rice with water and straining it to see how it turns out; it'd be a lot cheaper than using nuts.
I never did end up trying it, though. When I was ovo-veg, I always preferred and used rice milk over soy. For cereal i'd mix mostly rice with a little soy to thicken it. Other than that, it was rice all the way.

I've seen recipes for it before, but can't find them now. One thing I know is it requires soaking..and RINSING several times as it helps to remove the starch from the rice.

Might try soaking overnight, rinsing several times during the day and continue soaking till the next morning. Rice needs lots of water to germinate.

Then toss in the blender like almonds?

I really don't think it would work. If it did work, it would probably taste terrible.

I don't think so either. It's WAY too hard and won't really grind well. So when you strain it I'm sure it'll taste mostly like water.

Um, Gold, did you not bother reading ALL the responses??
Why do I bother responding to your posts? You either never come back to read them, or if you do come back, you still don't read them. K. I'm out or i'm gonna get mean.

I did it before & it tasted great to me & the kid! I used sprouted brown rice I bought at Whole Foods Market (softer that reg rice) & I soaked it for a few hours in my fridge. Then blended it up with a dash of B maple syrup but you can use whatever sweetner. Strain & serve!
