I apologize up front for this question:

Sorry to bring this up again but.. I was wondering if anyone knows what does it mean (if anything) if your poop is well.. sort of sticky?
meaning, it takes a whole lot of TP to get it off your bum?
My daughter and I are both experiencing this since eating more raw foods.
I am considering buying a Bidet!
Any response would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't think it means anything negative. I get this sometimes; it is merely a matter of what I've eaten and/or how much fluid I've taken. If it is hard, that would be more of a possibility of a problem. In either case, I would drink more water/fluids or juicy fruits (melons).

I all ready drink about 80 oz of liquids a day. My daughter on the other hand is a teen and drinks very little water, so I can see how that might be her problem.
We were both just a little concerned because this is a new development.

Raw food acts as a brush in your colon, and it pulls off years of accumulation. This is probably what you're experiencing. If you stick with raw, you will find that you will eventually need NO toilet paper. You will always wipe, but you'll find absolutely nothing on the tissue unless you are sick or going through a detox episode.

Of course everybody's bodies are going to respond differently. It also depends what you have been eating, how long you have been raw = meaning 100% or a combination of 60/40 - 70/30-80/20-90/10 as an example with these, your body maybe able to handle the raw part but unablde to properly digest the non raw part, so whatever is coming out did not go through it's full stage of digestion. This is also true for those who are 100% raw - If your body is choosing to release some of it's stored poisions, this poisions will effect your bowel flow. Also you have to take into effect the intestines = they are very long, so it may take a few days or just a couple of hours. How many times to you go a day? The more you go the cleaner your intestines are becoming. The point is there are many different varibles as to why sometimes your bowel movements change in it's flow patterns. Have you been keeping a detailed journal of all that you've been eating and if any the added chemicals that are in your foods - condiments - toothpaste - shampoo - laundry soaps and hands soaps - makeup -etc... Our skin is a huge sponge as well so what we put onto our skin will also get into our systems and effect the discharge as well.
So what type of tracking have you been doing?

hee hee, I knew you'd be all over this thread Path! :D

Yes, I've had the pastey thing happen too. Texture can tell you alot of your colon health. Imagine squeezing it out of a tube...........it's the rock hard, dry ones to be worried about.

Higher water content foods which RAW is, will definately put you thru various BM changes until you level out. All the fecal matter that's impacted or delayed from bad eating, maybe being moistened and brushed out for the first time in a long time.

I am also experiencing the very same thing. I have to take a shower after every BM.....

I have also noticed that my BM contains sand (feels that way anyway). A sandy grit that needs to be washed off. Cannot get a good cleaning any other way right now. Anyone have any clues to what it is?

I do believe in the statement "Better Out Than In".

Thanks Ken

Did you eat dirt when you were a kid?

awesome, this is the kind of info I need! Well I have been 80% raw just since August 1st. I have a serious history of poop issues, ie: constipation etc..
I am keeping a detailed food journal for food allergy reasons, I finally figured out that coconut oil is causing a major eczema breakout.
My daughter is a meat eater and so is my husband and they both are experiencing the same thing. But I am feeding them as much fiber and natural foods as I can, sneaking whole grains and good oils into thier meals hehe. Maybe we are all cleaning out?
I hope that is the case and not some weird parasite thing. eeewwww *shudder*
I am going about 2-5 times a day but usually in the morning.
I tried the flax seed thing and wow! that works.
anyway I really appreciate your feedback and expertise!
keep the comments coming! I am learning from you all.
Thanks

I probably ate lots of dirt as a kid.....

I was assuming it is something foreign to my body. Also had a thought of it possibly being cholesterol leaving the liver. It is my understanding it can leave the body and have the size and consistency of sand. Either way I am happy my body is cleaning house.

Thanks Ken

Musicalfruit, I went thru this stage as well. Can't remember how long it lasted, but my guess is it was just a stage of detox which included eliminating old mucus or something similar........? The good news is, it will pass (hee hee).

I hesitate to give you a couple of tips out of sheer embarassment but what the heck.

1) Squatting, lifting the knees or elevating the feet while doing one's business will help to reduce clean up.

2) Keep a tub of baby wipes by the toilet.

Thanks! Hey, I don't get embarrased anymore. poop is poop, we all do it.
I was looking online and found this squatting chair that goes over your toilet. haha! I actually considered buying it for a minute and then thought, now how in the heck would I explain that to the in-laws? they all ready think I am nuts!

I have a folding step stool that can be folded up when done and put on the side of the toilet in the back. If anyone sees it, they simply assume it's just where I keep a stool in storage. This is the one I have.

mongomango,
I
have a folding step stool that can be folded up when done and put on the side of the toilet in the back. - I have a trash can that is just the right height, for this procedure. And when it's done it goes back to being a trash can. :D
