Im on day 21 100% (woo!) and..Ive eaten nothing but raw applesauce for 3 days now. I dont want anything else. Everything else sounds rather disgusting.
Did anybody else go through this quasi-mono eating sometime during their raw journey?
All it is is apples, raw honey, cinnamon, and a dab of vanilla.
Any idea why applesauce would be what Im craving?
Id love to hear other peoples' experiences :)
thanks!

Mmmm applesauce...
I've been living on cantaloupe for about a week now... with bits of salad and pineapple or plums thrown in. I have gone through about 16 cantaloupes this past week.

I had a craving one day for a nice ripe juicy organic valencia orange. I went to trader joes...got a sack and went home and ate 3. I immediately felt "back to normal". I then immediately jumped back in the car and went and bought 30 pounds of these oranges and ate them for about 5 days. I can't explain why, but I think our bodies know what it needs. My husband thought I was crazy.. but when he saw me feeling "friskier" he immediately piped down about me eating so many oranges and just enjoyed a happier me!! ;)

Hmm, Im 33 days raw (100% I think) and so far Ive not had a mono day like that but Im ALWAYS up for apples...all kinds. I ALWAYS want to eat apples and if I thought I could eat them all day long I would! :)

This is so true. And we should listen to our bodies craving raw, good foods. I go through periods whereall I want is greens. Then other times I want fruits. Listen to your body - IT knows... ;)
I also notice that I eat seasonally. Lighter salads in the hotter months and more filling foods in the winter months.

I do this often and have been craving applesauce! I will have to make a batch when I get back to school! Mmm, sounds good. But it is normal.

I go through weird phases of "I'll eat this and nothing else for a few days/weeks." Always, it is my body needing something. Apples are marvellous! The only thing they are not good for is your teeth!! (sugar) They are a wonder food and although I've never liked them (go figure) I do respect them for their crazy health benefits ^_^

For me it's been strawberries this week and just juicing carrots and greens.. Seems that is what my body wants, and I'm feeling great and losing weight so I'll listen to what my inner voice is saying..

My weirdest craving was iceberg lettuce........it taste sweet the longer on raw.

Yup. I think our bodies tell us what we need all the time, the question is....are you in tune enough to listen? Sounds to me like you are! I havn't had apples for maybe 4 months until this week. I was just so "bleh" with them, but now I'm glad I'm back eating my Gala apples!

When we first went raw, we just couldn't live a day without Dates. I chopped up Walnuts and dipped the dates in it. I could just eat that ALL the time. Now, I'm over that phase and eating all kinds of gourmet stuff. :)

Seasonal eating. I am supposed to be eating apples as per the doctor. I have not been able to get one down until this last week. Must be now that it is not so hot here I can do it.

Only applesauce for 3 days straight can't be healthy.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. What is not healthy?

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. What is not healthy? I agree. Now, if one were to eat only applesauce for 3 months then there might be challenges. Variety is required for good health over days/weeks not hours.

It sounds good to me. It may not necessarily be any kind of nutritional need for your body, just a preference.
Don't know how it could be "unhealthy" to only have appleauce for 3 days - people will fast for days weeks at a time, it is a way to allow the body a rest.

Sounds VERY healthy to me! It's a spiced up version of an Edgar Cayce cleanse which specifies eating only apples for 3 days. ;)
All it is is apples, raw honey, cinnamon, and a dab of vanilla.
Just blended up together?
Skins and all?
