Like the leafs become all darkish, and have like that brown water, would it be a good idea to make a green smoothie/juice out of it instead of throwing it away?

I pull everything that is not fresh off and cut off brown tips of stems. Even if I thought my body was now perfectly balanced I do not want to take a risk. If it is slightly wilted from heat or just being out in the air I will use it. I rinse and sometimes wash thoroughly because even though some people eat dirt for healing - I don't know that the dirt on the greens is the clean dirt I would consider.

If the leaves are just wilted, it's probably fine. However, once they start rotting and getting slimy I think they're best thrown out (trash, compost, etc.)

Eewwww yeah. If it's getting nasty, slimey, rotting, chuck it. It's not worth getting sick from it.

I usually go by how it smells. Slimy leaves, I DON'T do, in anything. But sometime spinach looks ok, but smells kind of funny. In that case, I won't use it.
