Saw in this thread, http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=184668&posted=1#post184668 that people spend so little on food, so i'm thinking, maybe most of them don't eat purely organic food. And me personally, I ONLY eat organic.

I eat some organic, but the majority of the produce I buy is conventional... I simply can't afford to get all organic right now. However, I'll be done with my Masters degree this December and afterwards (when I have a full-time job) will be able to afford it.

I'd starve if I went only-organic. There's not enough of a local selection. During the summer, it's a lot better. I get my tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapenos, corn, (white and red, not sweet) onions, green peppers from my mom's garden; which are just freely grown (and eaten by rabbits, lol.) Other than that, it's what I can get at the grocery store. I go to the organic section first and get what I can.
However if the organic stuff they do have is gross and expensive, I will pass it by for conventional. I refuse to pay 5 times the amount for moldy/gross food JUST because it's organic.

Pathmark has a a VERY limited supply of organic produce. Plus it's expensive, so I don't buy it. King Kullen is the only supermarket I know of that has organic produce...and that's expensive too. When I start earning more money from my new job, then I'll start eating only organic. But for now, I'll stick to conventional produce.

Although I don't buy 'certified' organic exclusively, all the food I buy are not sprayed with anything. So, in essence, they ARE organic, but just not 'certified'.

Linda where do you get your produce? From like a garden or local farm or somethin? They're probably really fresh if they are.

I try to buy mostly organic too. The problem in my area is there is such a limited availability of organic, so I buy what I can and the rest is conventional. Someday I want to have my own garden! :)

ALL organic, it's a must in my book! Grant it my dad is paying and when I transfer next fall I won't have the luxary....uh oh! Usually I only have tomatoes, lettuce, apples, oranges, melons, carrots, celery, and pepper available to me so...that's not a big selection at all, but I make do.

I cannot do all organic due to lack of selection as well as price. I bought organic kale and it was almost 4 times the price of regular. However that Kirllian (?) photography that I saw was most persuasive for receiving the benefit from organic. Well I would like a Norwalk juicer too but it ain't gonna happen! LOL

I get mine from farmer's market. I ask the farmers how they grow their food and the kind of sprays used. After I'm told that no sprays are used, I examine their produce to check for holes (if there are lots of holes from insects, you can be pretty certain that there's no spray).

My lettuce/spinach is always organic. I got leaf lettuce from my parents' garden when it first came in. This was the first year they attempted to grow it, so it was pretty experimental. It turned out great so they plan on planting a lot more next year. When I buy lettuce/spinach I get Earthbound Farms. I also found bags of Earthbound Farms romaine hearts at the local middle eastern store for $1.89 a bag!
I buy organic apples. I can never find organic oranges at my local stores. The organic lemons are always moldy. I rarely, if EVER find organic melons. I found an organic baby cantaloupe ONCE. I do buy EbF celery & carrots. The peppers are still coming from my parents' til the season ends. I spent $11 on organic red grapes, and they started molding within like 2 days. I was quite irked, to say the least.
