Does anybody know of any raw/natural remedies for overactive bladder?

I'm not sure what the cause is of your overactive bladder, but I've had problems with leakage since my last baby was born almost 4 years ago due to severe pelvic floor prolapse. (One doctor did try to get me to take overactive bladder medication, which did nothing besides give me dry mouth).

I tried all the non-surgical routes I could think of for 2 years and ended up getting surgery, which helped a ton, but didn't completely stop the problem. My current diagnosis is that my pelvic floor is stable, but the urethra tilts under pressure.

But I tell you all this just so you can see that I have a condition too, but it is practically non-existent when I'm eating raw. This is what led me to raw foods and beyond all the other great benefits, is the main one that keeps me raw. I haven't had to take any other remedies besides just eating raw. And the few times that I messed up and ate something with white flour in it, I'd start leaking again within and hour and it would take me several days of raw to clear it back up. Makes my OBGYN (and my husband) shake their heads in wonder, but it's true. :)

I usually have to fast for half a day before some kind of function where I might not be able to use the restroom.

Sometimes I swear I must have a bladder the size of a marble.

Surely in time on the raw diet, and maybe some of those pelvic exercises things will improve.

I'm really glad this thread came up, because I was starting to get worried.

I am not 100% raw and have noticed that when I eat cooked I don't have the small bladder problem, but when I eat raw, I do. I think the body does not need that much water when eating raw. I used to religously drink my 8 glasses of water a day, but now I just don't worry about it much. Most of my water comes from the green juices I drink and the raw foods (I don't eat dried foods). The only time I really drink a lot is during and after exercising.

Before I went raw, it would be hours before I would need a bathroom...

Now that I'm raw, the combined liquids from my food plus the water I drink has me in there several times a day if not an hour LOL...

My contribution to the scams of the water department and toilet paper industry... even though living on my own, I can um... let things mellow :o

When I was young I would never use the bathroom at work during the day unless it was for hair and makeup. Now I have had a hellacious bladder problem for many years and surgery and meds have done absolutely nothing for it. However, recently I had a UTI and got an herbal supplement that really really helped. Even when I stop taking it the effects can ease my bladder problem for a few days. It has uva urse, juniper berry, parsley leaf, ginger root, marshmallow root, cramp bark, and goldenseal root. It says it is "certified". Since it is just dry herbs I imagine it must be raw. Eating raw has eased up my bladder problem sometimes on some days - haven't figured that one out yet. I don't need as many fluids on raw as I am eating so much produce.
