Hi <waving>

You had replied to a post about enzymes you took (from trader joes) and I was wondering if you had a name of the pills and why you use them...do they help with the bloating?

I am a bit at my wits end with eating raw. I KNOW that its good for me and my body will be happier in the end but my digestion issues are almost too much to bear. Ive tried different food combos to no avail, Ive gained weight (go figure) even though Ive given up the raw sweets and nuts and I KNOW I am retaining water cause I can actually see it in my legs...they're like rippley or something. Oh yeah and I have eczema on my face by my chin and nose. Ive never had this in my life ever! I do drink plenty of water and eat 4 to 5 times a day. I dont mean to complain as much as I have but this is bordering on rediculous.

Anyway - back to my point - Id love to know the name of those pills. Maybe a little reprive in teh digestion area will help keep me on track :) Thanks for any help!!

they were just papaya and pineapple enzymes..trader joes brand in the vitamin section. but i imagine any enzymes specifically targeting the digestion of proteins would help.

they help me to digest nuts and food in general more thoroughly and more quickly (over night as opposed to 2 days..)

hope it helps!!

I am of the opinion that if one is eating raw (correctly) that one would not need enzymes.

You might try a short fast (water only) for two or three days and then re-introduce food back into your body very slowly starting with diluted juices.

Be careful about where the enzymes are derived from. My chiropractor sells them but they are derived from oxen bile I believe, not a veggie/vegan thing at all. I don't care for them for another reason as well, they are heat compacted instead of capsules, capsules ensure the integrity of the enzymes as they do not require heat to form. Make sure you get capsules...

Alex - I believe I am trying to eat as correctly as I can. meaning that Im 100% as far as I know. the more I learn the more I realize things like raw almond butter arent really raw. know what i mean? my issues are that my belly is hurting bad and i am very strict following the food combining chart (which really makes being raw a pain in the ass!). I think the enzymes might help me?

nix - thank you so much for the advice! I will make sure to read the ingredience and that they are capsules! ;)
