I Need Your Help

Hi Everyone. This is a huge favor to ask.
Are you, are do any of you know of, a therapist or someone who can help a 23 year old girl in need.
I have a client who is in desperate need of counseling for bulimia. She cannot afford to pay anyone so i will do a barter with someone if they can help her a little bit. i can do free consults for raw and give my book and DVDs.
I want to help this women but i really think she needs to be talking to someone about her disorder and not JUST doing raw.

Hi Alissa,

I spoke to a therapist friend at church this am...good news! She has lots of experience in working with people with eating disorders, *and* she does phone consultations. I explained the money issue and she will work her on it. I will PM you with her name and number. She's not a raw foodie (yet!) but she's interested in your book, etc. :)

alissa, i am not a therapist but i am recovering from an eating disorder - EDNOS (Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified) i have Never binged, but i have wasted many years fasting and purging...if she would like to talk to someone thats been in the trenches you could give her my yahoo id......mavrics_girl

I agree, everyone here is so kind to help with this. Wow, its really an amazing place this board, so full of love. When i was trying to figure out how to find the right person for this women my first thought was to post this here and within minutes i had some responses. Thank you all! im still waiting on a few call backs. Hopefully we'll find the right person and i will also pass that info along heather, that’s very kind of you!

Hi Alyssa,

I have recovered from Bulimia (17 yrs now). Fighting an eating disorder is a lifetime battle. I still battle with my weight and food. I no longer binge and purge, but I do think I have had an unhealthy relationship with food. I have since learned through reading and self-awareness and personal growth to recognize my dependency on food (especially during stressful events). That when I do turn to food for comfort or whatever, I am learning to recognize this and make concious choices. Will alway struggle with this (kind of like being a recovered alcoholic just with food).
