Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered "Is that me?"
Well I had that moment today!
I mean... is that really what I look like??? :o
Motivation enough to get me more serious about my health.

YES!! I had that moment during my "summer of french fries". Seriously, all I ate were french fries !! I looked in the mirror one day and saw like amlost 10 extra pounds and was like "I need to stop this !!"

yep. summer before junior year. 3 or so years ago?
its been a long road
I saw a photograph of myself and couldn't believe what I saw. That was last December. I've been 100% raw ever since.

Kinda opposite for me.
Whenever I look in the mirror, and keep staring, I sometimes go "Is that me... Damn i'm hot as hell!" And sometimes it's hard to believe of how hot/sexy I am...

Not the mirror, but in photos, yes. I sure don't feel as heavy as I look in photos.

*laughing* Isn't that just the truth! Even when I do my raw progress photos every 30 days, I want to say, "hey! I know I look better than THAT!"
I don't get that so much in the mirror, but I have definitely had some insecure moments when I happen to catch my reflection in a store window or something. I'm working on self image as part of my raw lifestyle. Getting better, but not healed yet. :o

Keep in mind that unless you are VERY symmetrical, pictures will always look different than the mirror. The mirror is a reflection and the camera is a true image as if you were looking at yourself from out of body. :)

I agree with the pictures. I look at pictures and I think "My god, that's disgusting." I haven't let people take pictures of me in a long time. I used to take lots of pictures, even of myself to keep my online photo album/profiles updated. But nope. not now. Hopefully soon!

Even when my BMI was 37, I didn't look obese or ugly. (Much of the "extra" weight is in my bicycle motor.) But if I turned sideways to the mirror, I saw a big belly.
I have for years, even on cooked, looked ten years younger than I am. But I haven't been called hot. Maybe soon ;)

Up in my late 30's I seem to have those moments quite a bit. When I see myself in pictures, videos, etc. it's difficult to look at, doesn't look like the younger 20's me.
I think had I not gone down this health path, what I really would have looked like may have been even more shocking though.
Yes, it is enough to make me really clean up my act!

Sharon,
Just listened to your website video. Awesome. Click at the end of her messages for the website information. Really, really a nice one to use as a model for my future website development, but not food related, however encouragement in a different setting/environment--more writing and jewelry ideas. We shall see where it all falls together!

Pictures are a bear! I saw some after I had my youngest child, which kicked my bottom in gear to do something about it. I had hit 182lbs! I used pregnancy as a reason to eat and eat and eat and it wasn't good food at all. I never want to be back there again.

Oh man, this is right up my alley!! I have fallen WAY off the raw food for quite some time now. (I'm always lurking on here though) Anyway, lately, I've been so depressed. Part of that is because of what I see in the mirror. I feel disgusting too. I'm sure glad that I keep attached to this website. I started back to raw yesterday. I need to stay close to all of you!!
