What are some of your favorite un-cookbook recommendations?
(Besides Alissa's - I think hers is far and away the BEST. Also, I have RAWvolution, which has been awful so far.)
And one more thing....could you link to some websites that have lots of good raw recipes? I've searched and found a few, but feel there's some I'm missing.
Thanks!
I'm trying so hard to go raw, but I need to find lots of truly delicious meals that will keep me from being terribly lonely for cooked food. I'm only hitting home runs about 20% of the time so far with my raw recipes. Not sure why, but I've made lots of things I haven't liked. Eventually I'll get a big notebook full of winning recipes and will lose any justification not to stay raw for good.

At the moment I love love love romaine lettuce wraps.
Just cut up avocado, tomato, cucumber, crushed garlic, and anything else you fancy, mix with olive oil, apple cider vinegar, dried mixed herbs and a dash of agave syrup.
Spooin it into the lettuce leaf, and enjoy!! Its pretty messy so I would keep a plate under you when you eat it lol. Worth it though!
Also, every morning I have a thick fruit smoothie for breakfast. This usually satisfies me and tastes sooo good!!

I have Juliano's book and while it's an interesting book and it has lovely pictures, so far any of the recipes I've tried from it have not been to my liking. I also have Carole Alt, but do not recommend it and it is not vegan and a couple of others that I can't say I would recommend for the recipes because they aren't all raw. Although I do think they have good information in them.

I love Raw Food Real World. Simple yet delicious (and the authors are so cute!).
We have hundreds of recipes on our site (see below) also the free recipes ebook (for Windows) that I posted earlier.
Cheers,
Sheryl
I second Raw Food Real World -- fabulous recipes from professional, trained chefs.
I like Juliano's too. The recipes look more complicated than they are because he uses a really long list of spices for most of them. But you can either leave some of the spices out or sub your own favorites.

Boutenko kids have it! Simple, tasty, easy to get you started. I have them all, but spend so much time trying to look up something! I have notebooks of recipes, file cards, books!!! I think I'll just use one book, work my way thru and pick out some fav's. Love various Eggless Pate/dip. Guacamole!!! But prep messes up the kitchen so much! Fall back on salads with different dressings. Flax crackers....RP's BROWNIES!!! :p

I have not done much with recipes and have eaten mostly fairly spartan fare, but I like The Raw Gourmet cookbook quite a lot. Heh, if only I can get up the ambition to make the dishes more than once in a lifetime...but that goes for every cookbook. I'm not real big on preparation or presentation unless I have to impress or tempt someone.

Who wrote RAWvolution? I have several books but Alissa's (along with the CD's) really motivated me and is the one I reach for daily. I write comments in my cookbooks--always have. My copy is REALLY marked up with date made, initials for level of satisfaction (vg--verygood, pg--pretty good, etc.) and any suggested additions or changes. I am trying to branch out and try some of the recipes to get away from eating the same tried and true favorites.
Raw Food Real World is nice. Have only made two recipes from there. Complex, delicious and gourmet.
Juliano's book was the first one I bought years ago. Tried only a couple recipes and felt overwhelmed at the time. More familiar with procedures now so may dust it off and try again.
Will try to write down the name of the book I refer to second. It is a compilation of many raw food chefs in one volume. Pretty good although very few pics.
Renee's book and Gabriel's are both nice with not real complex recipes. Have only made a few recipes from each of those, too.

Hi!
I have downloaded your ebook just now, (thanx so much, that's very cool of you) but seem unable to access the recipes. It says registering ebook, then username/password combo is invalid..but there was no place to put in a user name, nor was a passcode given.

I have
Alissa's
Raw Food Real World
Matt Amsden's Rawvolution
Brigette Mars' Rawsome
Kate Wood's Raw for for Smart .. something.
Aside form Alissa's book, RFRW wins hands down for me in terms of being a beautiful book with recipes that work and taste fantastic. I have loads of (sad) cookery books (taking up too much space) and I've used RFRW more that any other cookery book. The pages are smeared with juice and raw chocolate and besides looking good, it's actually a real workhorse.
On this site there are lots of pictures of recipes from RFRW.
There's also an interesting thread about Rawvolutions Onion bread. I love the onion bread but the pictures and the recipes don't quite turn out the same for it. The other point about Rawvolution is that some recipes pop up several times. I like this as it shows how mastering a few recipes can lead to quite different outcomes. For example, the onion-bread mixture is also the quiche base.
I like Brigette Mar's book too - recipes and nutritional info about fruit and veg.
Kate Wood's is still in pristine condition.
