I've been raw for 2 1/2 weeks now, and I wanted to know whether or not the sprouted grain breads that say "live" that they sell in the freezer section of health food stores really qualify?

I went to a raw food class at the beginning of the summer and they used it, but I'm still a little skeptical..?

On their website, they say that they do not qualify as being a "raw food" because their bread is baked at 200 degrees. But many still use it in transition (or perhaps just as an added part of their continued diet) because it IS healthier than other breads. It's a personal choice if you use it or not...but there are sprouted (flat) bread recipes (with and without grains) that you can make with a dehydrator.

I use to eat the sprouted breads and was very unhappy when i had to stop eating them. I don't miss them as much.
You mentioned flat breads, are these recipes listed somewhere i could get to them?
They would make quick take out the door meals easier. :D
Thanks
Bethanie

I'm just basically saying that many raw recipe books and raw websites (such as www.living-food.com or www.fromsadtoraw.com) that have recipes listed on them have sprouted bread (or breads not made with grains such as that onion bread) listed...that they're is a such thing.

well that's dissapointing. Thank you though. I thought that I had been 100% raw for a month now, but I guess not quite that. I eat it almost every day because it's fast. Woops.

I called Nature's Path, the company that makes the Manna Bread and they told me they get that question all the time, but it is not raw or sunbaked like many people seem to think. I know the Ezekiel Bread is not raw. It's definitely better than regular bread though.

It's not raw, but it is a good transition food.
