I've had a bit of a stuffy nose for a couple of days, and now my chest is feeling odd .. like something is settling there. I've had several bouts with pneumonia in my "sad" days ... and it feels something like that. sooooo

suggestions .. what would be the best thing to be eating right now? I'm doing a green smoothie every morning, and drinking a lot of apple/lemon juice. Any other things ya'll out there think would be good?

I really don't have time to have any 'down' time ... have two classes to teach this coming weekend, so want to nip this thing in the bud.

Thanks so much for the input.

Something really quick you could take with you is a ginger and lemon tea. If you just cut up some ginger and lemon and let it steep all day and in a tall jar and sip it. You could also eat a lot of garlic like with some veggies (and try to stick to the non-starchy veggies) until you feel stronger and healthier. A friend of mine unfortunately has chronic lung problems (never a smoker but everyone in her family smoked and she was always around it at work) She uses ginger a lot.

Suggestions:

Goldenseal---fresh poweder in warm water.

I would even do a mustard seed powder bath or better yet, plaster onto the chest.

Stay warm warm warm. Don't sleep with windows open. Keep ears and neck warm when going out.

Eat more bitter foods

:)

I would drink a LOT of water, and stick to the smoothies and juices to give your body space to let it clear out.. ditto on the herbs listed above. I would however sleep with the windows open because I think a little fresh air at night is absolutely essential.

If you feel like you are going through a cleansing mode, try to go to bed and hour or two earlier at night, so your body can heal during your rest.

And actually, I'd stay away from the herbs as they are just going to irritate your system more, especially the mustard, and maybe cause even more mucus from the irritation. Keep the fluids going in and the rest going on.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'm going to try my best to get more sleep ... I say as I just walk in the door at almost 9pm from work ... geesh. I drank a lot of water and apple/lemon juice today while working. Will add some ginger tomorrow to my drink or my smoothie.

for not, going to tend to email while I'm munching down a huge salad ... and get to bed for some of that sleep everyone recommended ... and see what tomorrow brings. I think I feel a bit better tonight ...
