My mom has asked me to help her fast. I am undecided whether I am going to do it with her or not. She has had that gastric bypass. She doesn't like to fill full, she doesn't like anything sweet, and she loves beer! Any suggestions on some good juices? She likes bloody Mary's so I know she will love a V8 like homemade raw juice.
Thanks for your feedback!

Hi... I will include some juice recipes... including a V8. Also, raw soups may be a good solution for your Mom... they are less sweet and will still give her energy. She can simply eat them room temp. Also, some salads or veggies may be an alternative... if there are some veggies she likes. Making a raw dip for her to go with them... may be something she would enjoy. I'll include a link for a few I make... if that is a possibility for her along the way... or after her fasting.
From what I know about gastric bypass... protein is important. If she isn't eating that much... hemp or rice protein powder mixed in juices or soups may be good for her. (I don't use soy powder anymore because of the questions about soy being good for us.)
If she doesn't have a juicer and needs one... the easier to clean the better. Two that I have are much easier (to clean) than the one I used to have. Jack Lalane's Power Juicer (lower price) and the Breville Juicer. The first works well and would probably be all she needs.

1 beet cut in chunks
1-2 cloves garlic (opt)
*Juice ingredients... chill and serve... can add cayenne for zip if wanted

It might help your Mom to succeed if she reads more about fasting... see a post I have there for Miss Linda's great Fasting 101 and a wonderful site called Freedom You.
