I've been using a "magic bullet" processor/blender for smoothies and pates for a while...

what can a vitamix do that my bullet or a standard blender can't do?

*gets on soap box*

It can make silky smooth puddings, icings and smoothies and ice cream.
It can grind flax seeds into flax meal,
It can make awesome almond and nut milks.
It can make warm raw soups.

I have the magic bullet and I like it a lot for small batches, salad dressings, etc...but it can not compare w/ vita-mix.

I am sure there are a ton of other things it can do but these are a few off the top of my head :)

It didn't work very well for me doing that....some people do and their recipe book says you can but I didn't like it.

I do not like the fact that there are openings on the lid because it means that I have to cover it with cling wrap to make sure that a fly does not wander in and it also means that if I want to rinse it between uses I can not fill it with water and give it a good shake.
I can not complaine about the way that it functions but I think that the dry one does not grind the flax seeds as good as my cheapie.

Hmmmmnnnnnnnnnnn......mine has one opening that has a lid to fit, otherwise you could not stir thick ingredients with the tamper.

Sport, why can't you rinse it between uses? I don't have one, but have thought about it....but since the only place I've seen them is on the internet.....I can't get my hands on one to actually see it. Just wondering.

I've never used a bullet, but all I can say is I LOVE my vitamix. It does everything I need it to do!

I have used my vitamix for 7 years.

Know before I list my reasons it is better let me just state. I did not buy the vitamix for the raw diet. I bought it for party reasons.

The vitamix makes a frozen margarita so smooth it can be sipped through a stir straw.

Milkshakes out of this world.

It is the blender of choice for jamba juice and starbucks and Los Cabos restruaunts just to name a few.

You can make any type of peanut or nut butter in 5 minutes. For that matter I have made my own butter from cream.

It makes great nut milk.

Soups and ice cream are a dream so creammy smooth.

The dry container grinds nuts and seeds.

Oh yes again before raw It mixes and kneads bread.

I am absolutely love my vitamix. I have had to have it serviced a couple of times. The company sent out new blades and a new container when I broke mine. The only thing I have not liked is the last time I had a problem they needed me to send it in and I had to be out a blender for 2 weeks. About this time I bought a food processor by kitchen aid and was shocked to read that when you send it in for service They send you one to use in the meantime.

oh well a company cannot be perfect
