Guess who's gonna be doing a raw demo at the Puyallup Fair this year?
Yours truly, of course :D
I'd love to meet any RFT members who plan on attending the fair!
Here are the details:
When: Sunday, September 10, 2006
Time: 1-3 p.m.
Where: Home & Arts Kitchen - Pavillion, 2nd Floor
Cost: Nothing other than your fair admission
I'll be giving the fairgoers a taste of dairy-free delights...onion dip, chocolate pudding and ice cream!
So, if you attend this coming Sunday, please stop in and say hello! :)

Cool! Not sure if I will be there or not. Too much walking for me. I did go last year but the walking almost killed me. Just went to Evergreen and that was really too much for me.

Congratulations dear friend.

AHHH Dang! That is really close to where I live but I am going to be vacationing in California... I'm not sorry about California, but it would have been great to come see your demo.
PS are you all from Olympia? It at least sounds like Juliebove is.... I live in Olympia right now but go to school in Bellingham and I'm from Bainbridge, but it would be rad to know that some of you cool people are in my neighborhood.

Bothell here. My nephew will be going to school in Bellingham soon. Maybe you'll see him there!

...Thanks yall! :D
Tangerina, yep, I live in Olympia...Eastside. Maybe we can arrange to meet up and do (raw) lunch sometime! Have fun in Cali!
Juliebove, I hear ya about the walking. I generally do NOT like walking around for hours in large crowds at fairs, amusment parks, etc. So, we'll get there early to get my things up to the area, walk around and see the sites a bit and then after my demo, leave! This is the first time I've ever gone to the Puyallup fair...I lived in Tacoma for about 8 years in the 90's and never made it there, so this is a first.
RP, it'd be very nice to see you again. I can understand, the weekends are probably the most busiest and crowded times, huh?

Tangerina-so you are from Bainbridge!! I live in Poulsbo! If you get up this way to visit, let me know and maybe we can meet for a smoothie!
Rawkinlocs-have a great time at the fair! I'd love to come, can't make it this year but I hear it is a wonderful fair! I'll be thinking of you though, enjoy!

Oh sweet! I would love to meet up with both of you for lunch some day... I deffinitely make it to Bainbridge often to see my family, and I'm living in Olympia on the Westside until the 25th (and if things continue to go well long distance with the boy) I will be here quite often after then.... geez I feel like I live in 3 cities at once! But it would be really great to meet up and share some yummy food with you guys.... Haha, funny thing that my favorite thing about Poulsbo is Sluy's bakery and the maple bar men.... too bad they don't make raw ones... I should invent one... (playing bingo with the old folks at Son's of Norway is a close second in Poulsbo)

Tangerina-Oh yes, I too am very familiar with Sluys Bakery and those maple bar men! One of my son's favorites since he was a little guy! A raw version would be great, let me know when you've come up with this and we can talk to Dan Sluys about marketing it!

ooh lala, you got the inside connection? Well, I was actually thinking about that today... I was thinking about making smiley face cookies out of that lemon chew recipe floating around here... and I think you could make a good maple topping out of maple syrup and date paste... or something like that, but you would need the lightest raw cakey confection for the bottom part... I'm going to look for light raw cake and donut like recipes.... hehe, I love making treats

Yes, an inside connection as he is also one of my neighbors!
And smiley face cookies out of the lemon chew recipe would be so good, I'd love some raw treats offered locally. I love making raw treats too!
Just like Rawkinlocs Cinnamon Rolls, yummy! And her dairy-free delights she will be serving at the fair. Wish we could all meet up there!
