View Full Version : EFA oil
About a month and a half ago I started taking 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in the morning and at night around mid day I would have 1 tablespoon of Udo's efa oil. Two weeks after I started this process I noticed that my skin began to peel and flake my scalp got real crusty and flakey my ear started to chafe. I continued taking this mixture for about a month then stopped.
Do you think that it possible for the oils to have had some sort of bad reaction to my skin so this is why this happened or should the cause be contributed to something else.
Help.

Did the problem go away as soon as you stopped taking the oil.

I'm not familiar with Udo's oil. Have heard of it but never used it. I am using coconut oil, both eating it and applying it externally and my skin has never looked better. It's possible that you might have an allergy though.
Well, yes and no or should I say I'm not sure. I've been using topical medication to treat the dryness. It's pretty much gone now. I'm asking because I want to start back using the oil as I don't get much fat in my diet.
I use Udo's, Hemp and Coconut.
I believe Udo's is by far the best oil made and that you can take!
Strongly recommend his book: Fats That Heal, Fats That Kill
Also the articles on his website: http://www.udoerasmus.com/firstscreen.htm
I very much doubt that it was the oil that caused your skin problems, but it is possible to have an allergy to just about anything.
One of the ways we detox is through the skin, so a lot of times people get rashes, pimples etc when they go raw. This is a good think although it may not look that great.

I have done both in the past and never had any problem. I don't do either now but I do young coconut every day so I am getting plenty of fat and oil. (I blend the meat and juice)
