I'm going to a party this weekend and want to take raw food that blows the SAD eaters away- I think there was a thread like this a while ago, but I'm sure everyone has discovered new and amazing things that aren't on the other one. I would appreciate any suggestions for all parts of the meal, appetizers, main dish, desserts- whatever makes your eyes roll back in your head from ecstacy! Oh, I don't have a working dehydrator right now, but would love to hear any recipe you have either way.

I want to try that cheesecake recipe that is posted on here, it sounds great!

Thanks so much for your help! :D

Guacamole is always a winner, as is Alissa's Moc Salmon Pate.

The date nut torte worked great for me at a party too.

Cassy.:)

My pick would have to be Alissa's pecan pie. It's eyes rolling back good.

Alissa's pecan pie or chocolate chip cookies, OR anything from Renee Loux Underkoffler's book. Renee's recipes are more complicated than Alissa's, but they have ALWAYS gotten rave reviews, especially from people who have never tried raw foods!

that is good to hear about renee's recipes. i have had her book for awhile, kinda forgot about it and just pulled it out last night to peruse....and it was all sounding wonderfully gourmet.....perfect for the raw birthday meal that i will have to make for MYSELF (!)......happy birthday to meeeeeee :D

(turning 32, not really TOO eventful!)

Hi, and Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to YOUUUU, happy birthdaaaaay, happy birthday, happy birthday to YOUUUUUU.

Okay, the Pesto stuffed mushrooms are my absolute favorite, and everyone who has tried them loves them, but you do need a dehydrator for at least one hour,

Any desert is great, and that is where I would do raw for non-raw people, to start with.

The date nut torte, as alot of deserts have nuts and fruit and all that already.

People will accept it easily, and at least try it.

If it doesn't look too foreign, they will try it, and probably love it.

If you are trying to introduce people to raw food, I would then do the Zucchini pasta with marinara sauce, no dehydrating, and it looks super gorgeous, and you can add capers, fresh tomatoes, pine nuts, mushrooms anything you want as a garnish. it is a beautiful dish.
